Surgical Procedures
Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery)
Cosmetic eyelid surgery has gained popularity by giving the face a more youthful look through improvement of wrinkled and saggy eyelid skin.
Correcting aging of the eyes is a simple, effective way to achieve a rejuvenated but natural look.
Early signs of the normal aging process include downward shifting of the brows, upper eyelid fullness, lower eyelid “bags” and puffiness, and wrinkling skin.
Initially, swelling of the upper eyelids presents only in the morning and diminishes by the end of the day. Allergies, systemic problems, anatomical characteristics, or genetic origins may produce repeated swelling that lead to earlier aging changes in the upper eyelids. However, the swelling progressively gets worse and does not disappear. Eventually eye shadow becomes smudged at the lid folds. Progressive upper eyelid fullness produces overhanging skin folds that result in partial visual obstruction.
A downward shift of the eyebrows is sometimes interpreted as a problem with the upper eyelids.
Surgical correction of the brows is often times recommended before or at the same time as the upper eyelids. Having a Browlift procedure with an Upper Blepharoplasty will sometimes produce the most optimum result.
Lower eyelid puffiness or lower eyelid “bags” are caused by the protrusion of fatty tissues under the lids.
It is sometimes noticeable at a relatively young age, beginning in the mid-twenties. More often it is developmental in nature and appears at thirty five to forty years old, becoming more noticeable in the forties or fifties. Depending on your needs, Dr. Trimas will either perform a “skin pinch” to remove excess skin and sagging on the lower eyelids or laser resurfacing to improve fine lines, discoloration, or “dark circles” beneath the eyes. If you are experiencing one or more of these signs, you may be a good candidate for an Upper and/or Lower Blepharoplasty procedure.
These procedures may be performed under local, IV sedation, or general anesthesia.
Dr. Trimas will discuss these options with you at your cosmetic consultation appointment.

Rhinoplasty (Nose Surgery)
Every year, half a million people who are interested in improving the appearance of their noses seek consultation with facial plastic surgeons.
Some are unhappy with the noses they were born with, some dislike the way aging has changed their nose, and others have sustained injuries that may have distorted the nose, or impaired breathing. Nothing has a greater impact on how a person looks than the size and shape of the nose. Because the nose is the most defining characteristic of the face, a slight alteration can greatly improve one’s appearance, and other nasal surgeries can correct breathing and nasal obstructions.
Skin type, ethnic background, and age are important factors to be considered in discussions with your surgeon prior to surgery.
Before the nose is altered, a young patient must reach full growth, usually around age fifteen or sixteen. Expectations are cases in which breathing is severely impaired.
Before deciding on a rhinoplasty, ask Dr. Trimas if any additional surgery might be recommended to enhance the appearance of your face.
Many patients have chin augmentation in conjunction with a rhinoplasty to create a better balance of features.
Whether the surgery is desired for functional or cosmetic reasons, your choice of a qualified facial plastic surgeon is of paramount importance.
Dr. Trimas is double boarded certified with the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology (ear, nose and throat), which provide you with the highest level of training and expertise. Dr. Trimas will examine the structure of your nose both externally and internally, to determine if you are a good candidate for a rhinoplasty.

Using a baby bulb syringe, squeeze solution into nose (while bent over sink or towel) and irrigate until drainage is somewhat clear. It is normal for discharge to be various colors. Blood clots and mucous may come out. Prevents blockage of your sinuses, keeps inside of nose moist and clean. Helps dissolve nasal packing – may take up to a week or longer. May buy SINUS RINSE (from Walgreens) or follow recipe.

If you have a cast on the bridge of your nose, it is removed in 5-7 days.
After cast removal, you will be instructed to tape your nose.
You need to tape 24 hours a day for 1 week and then as much as possible for the next 4-8 weeks. This helps prevent scar tissue from forming.

Rhinophyma
Rhinophyma is a large, bulbous, ruddy nose caused by granulomatous infiltration, commonly due to untreated rosacea. Rhinophyma is characterised by prominent pores and a fibrous thickening of the nose, sometimes with papules. It can carry a strong psychological impact due to its effect on one’s personal appearance. It is a slowly progressive condition due to hypertrophy of the sebaceous glands of the tip of the nose often seen in cases of long-standing acne rosacea; it is not a neoplasm. It presents as a pink, lobulated mass over the nose with superficial vascular dilation; it mostly affects men past middle age. Patients seek advice because of the unsightly appearance of the enlargement, or obstruction in breathing and vision. The best treatment for Rhinophyma is the CO2 Laser.
Rhytidectomy (Facelift & Minilift Surgery)
Info
Aging of the face is inevitable.
As the years go by, the skin begins to loosen on the face and neck. Crow’s feet appear at the corners of the eyes. Fine forehead lines become creases and then, gradually, deeper folds. The jaw line softens into jowls, and beneath the chin, another chin or vertical folds appear at the front of the neck. Heredity, personal habits, the pull of gravity, and sun exposure contribute to the aging of the face. As the aging population grows, it is obvious why rhytidectomy, or facelift surgery, has become the third most desired facial plastic surgery procedure.
When deciding on the appropriate time to have a facelift procedure done, there is no set age.
This procedure is sometimes performed on patients in their thirties, and successful surgery has been performed on patients in their eighties. A facelift can help you look your best and give you a more youthful appearance.
Many patients decide to have other procedures completed in conjunction with a facelift.
This is a great time to recovery from multiple procedures at once, and can give you the best overall results. Facial liposuction can remove excess fatty deposits, or a necklift can smooth the jaw and neckline giving a more contoured appearance. If you are concerned with several flaws, ask Dr. Trimas about the combination of procedures that will best achieve your expectations.
Recovery usually takes two to three weeks, though many patients go back to work in two weeks.
Scars are usually not noticeable after adequate time has passed for them to mature. In any case, they are easily disguised in natural skin creases, by the hair, or, in persistent cases, by makeup until total healing has occurred.

Otoplasty (Earlobe Surgery)
Info
Protruding ears can lead to self-consciousness, social anxiety, low self-esteem and poor adaptation to school.
The ears can be pinned, reshaped, reduced in size, and made more symmetrical. Adults and children can benefit from this surgery. The ear surgery can be performed at any age, as long as the ears have reached full size, which is usually at age 5 or 6. Having the procedure at a young age is highly desirable in two aspects: the cartilage is extremely pliable, thereby permitting greater ease of shaping, and secondly the child will experience psychological benefits from the cosmetic improvement. Adult patients should understand that the firmer cartilage of fully developed ears does not provide the same molding capacity as children.

Mentoplasty/Genioplasty (Surgery of the Chin)
Info
A well-defined chin helps give balance to the face and creates an attractive profile.
When people look in the mirror, most focus on the size and shape of their noses, their ears, sagging jowls, or fine wrinkling of the skin. Very few examine their chins with the same discerning eye, although improvement in this area can create facial balance and harmony. Chin augmentation is useful in men or women who lack definition of their chin area as best seen on a profile view. They may also be useful in patients who have inadequate definition to their neckline.
Another possibility for improvement through chin surgery is sub-mental liposuction in which excess fatty tissue is removed to redefine the chin or neckline.
When there is a contributing problem of dental malocclusions or birth defects in the structure of the jaw itself, surgery of the jaw can improve the form and function of the lower face and greatly enhance appearance.

Facial Liposuction
Info
The operation used to remove excess pockets of fat is called facial suction lipectomy, or liposuction.
The procedure is not a substitute for weight loss and exercise if excessive facial fat is part of an overall weight problem. Liposuction is performed by inserting a special instrument (a cannula) beneath the skin through a tiny incision placed either below the chin or just behind the earlobe in a natural crease or fold. A suction apparatus connected to the cannula removes the unwanted fat cells. These cells will not be replaced, since fat cells do not multiply, as fat cells increase and decrease in size, not number.
After the fat is removed, the overlying skin collapses and shrinks to create a smooth appearance; the more elastic skin, the better the result.
Liposuction can be done alone or in combination with other facial plastic surgery procedures.
For example, combining liposuction with a facelift may help create a better overall result in skin elasticity is poor, since excess fat is removed at the same time as excess sagging skin.
Combined liposuction with a chin implant can help correct a receding or double chin.
Depending on the inherent elasticity of the skin and the amount of postoperative swelling, there may be no noticeable results until one or two months after surgery.
On the other hand, if the patient’s skin is relatively healthy with good elasticity (allowing the skin to contract rapidly), and if there is minimal swelling, the results may be noticed immediately, and often, dramatic improvement can be easily seen early in the postoperative course. Overall, the final result should be evident six months after the surgery. At that point, all of the swelling is gone, and any irregularities or firmness noted immediately after surgery will have softened and smoothed out.
Facial liposuction is normally performed under local anesthesia; the specific area will be numbed and a relaxing medication may be administered to keep you comfortable.
Instructions for Neck Liposuction Procedure:
performed under local anesthesia.
You may remove the head wrap the day after surgery.
Ice neck region every hour for at least 15 minutes for 2 days.
Keep incisions clean (bottom of ears and chin) using a mild soap.
Apply antibiotic ointment (ex: Neosporin) to incisions twice daily.
Sleep with head elevated (4-5 pillows or recliner) for a week.
Sutures will be removed in 1 week.
No exercise, heavy lifting or bending over for 2 weeks.
Wear TENNIS HEADBAND 24 hours a day for 1 week and then as much as possible for the next 4-6 weeks.
Injectable Fillers
ArteFill
ArteFill® is the long-lasting, permanent solution for wrinkle correction, lasting nearly five years. Wrinkles continue to improve over the course of several months and last longer than temporary fillers. A skin test is required 4 weeks prior to treatment to rule out any potential allergies.
Lip Augmentation
In addition to gravity and sagging skin, facial aging can present through loss of facial volume.
Dermal fillers can be used to restore volume loss by plumping the lips, and filling moderate to severe lines and folds around the mouth. Dermal Fillers such as, Restylane, Juvederm, or Belotero Balance are commonly used for lip augmentation.
Beaches Facial Plastic offers a variety of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers that have an added local anesthetic to maximize your comfort.
Hyaluronic acid is found abundantly in the human body; in the dermis it helps skin retain moisture, and it serves as a lubricant and a cushion in the joints.
Juvederm, Restylane, and Belotero Balance are temporary dermal fillers that can last up to a year.
For more information about our dermal fillers or to schedule your appointment at our conveniently located Jacksonville Beach or Fernandina Beach location, call Beaches Facial Plastic & Nasal Surgery Center today.
Browlift (Endoscopic Browlifts)
The effects of aging are inevitable, and, often, the brow and forehead area show the first signs of aging. With time, the skin begins to lose its elasticity. Sun, wind, and the pull of gravity all affect the face, resulting in frown lines and wrinkling across the forehead. A heaviness of the eyebrows and the upper eyelids causes the amount of skin between the brow and lash line to increase. Even people in their thirties may have faces that look older than their years. Your expression may appear tired, angry, or sad, and may not reflect how you actually feel. As a result, many people have opted for a procedure known as a browlift. During this procedure, Dr. Trimas tightens loose skin and removes the excess, thereby correcting forehead wrinkling and drooping brows. A smoother brow and a more youthful expression can be achieved with a browlift. To see what a browlift can do for your face, put your hands above your brows and outside the edges of your eyes and gently raise the skin upwards. Browlifts are an option if you have a sagging brow or deep furrows between the eyes. This procedure is usually done between age forty and sixty-five, although it may be necessary at an earlier age.

Neck lift
Info
Often times, a patient will focus most if not all of their anti-aging efforts on the face region alone, not realizing how lines, wrinkles and loose skin on the neck can age you.
A necklift is a type of lower facelift that will improve these issues, resulting in an elongated, youthful neck.
Some patients experience deep lines and wrinkles, while others struggle with visible pockets of fat.
If you are a good candidate for a necklift, Dr. Trimas will customize your procedure to fit your individual needs. This will allow him to address and correct your specific areas of concern.
A necklift procedure is somewhat similar to a facelift procedure. Dr. Trimas will make small incisions on either side of your face in front of or behind your earlobes.
These incisions will be hidden in the natural folds of your skin. Through these small incisions, he will remove excess fat, muscle and tissue, allowing the neck to be pulled into a more taut, youthful, but natural appearance.
If you have excess fat on your neck or lower face regions, facial liposuction will be performed as a part of your procedure.
This will achieve a more defined and youthful jawline. A necklift procedure is often paired with other facial procedures to achieve the best overall look.

Sinus & Nasal Surgery
Info
Balloon Sinus Dilation is a treatment option for recurrent and persistent sinusitis sufferers.
More than 37 million Americans suffer from sinusitis every year, making it one of the most common health conditions in the country. Traditionally, those who suffer from the pain, pressure and other symptoms of recurring and persisting sinus infections have two routes to relief; taking antibiotics, steroids, and over-the-counter medications, and/or undergoing sinus surgery under general anesthesia. Now, qualified patients have a new treatment option, a simple office procedure called balloon sinus dilation.
Balloon sinus dilation is a minimally invasive treatment option that can be performed by Dr. Trimas right here, in his office.
The objective of balloon sinus dilation is to reshape anatomy to expand sinus pathways and restore drainage. The procedure utilizes small balloons placed in key places in the nose and sinus, which are then dilated to expand the sinus pathways. It may be an effective, lasting option for some patients whose symptoms do not resolve with medication.
The balloon sinus dilation procedure can be performed under local anesthesia and usually does not require general anesthesia.
In many cases the patient is able to resume normal activities within 24 hours. At your initial office visit, Dr. Trimas can determine if your condition is one that may benefit from balloon sinus dilation and can help you understand the risks and benefits of this treatment option.
Dr. Trimas is a trained and experienced user of balloon sinus dilation technologies.
Often times, this procedure can be combined with a cosmetic rhinoplasty. If you are experiencing sinus problems and desire aesthetic improvement to your nose, the joint procedure will allow you to combine recovery time and may save you money on the elective portion of your surgery. Make an appointment with Dr. Trimas today to determine if balloon sinus dilation is right for you.

Facial Lesions & Skin Cancer Reconstruction
Info
Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States.
More than 500,000 new cases are reported each year, and the incidence is rising faster than any other type of cancer. While skin cancers can be found on any part of the body, about 80 percent appear on the face, head, or neck, where they can be disfiguring as well as dangerous. Dr. Trimas is board-certified in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive surgery, and can carefully remove your facial lesions or facial skin cancer with minimal scarring.
The primary cause of skin cancer is ultraviolet radiation -most often from the sun, but can also be caused by tanning beds.
Anyone, and any skin type can get skin cancer. However, you are at greater risk if you have fair skin that freckles easily, light-colored hair and eyes, numerous moles, a family history of skin cancer or personal history of blistering sunburn, spend a lot of time outdoors, live in Florida, along with other factors.
Most skin cancers on the face are removed surgically by Dr. Trimas.
If the cancer is small, the procedure can be done quickly and easily, in an outpatient facility or at Atlantic Surgery Center of Jacksonville Beach. The procedure may be a simple excision, which usually leaves a thin, barely visible scar. If the cancer is large, however, or if it has spread to the lymph glands or elsewhere in the body, major surgery may be required.
In some cases, Mohs surgery may be required. If so, we will refer you to a local Mohs surgeon.
During a Mohs procedure, the surgeon removes the visible skin cancer along with a thin layer of surrounding tissue. This tissue is then examined to confirm that all of the cancerous tissue has been removed. This process will be continued until there is no evidence of cancer. On average, it is done about 1-3 times during the procedure. Mohs surgery ensures that only cancerous tissue is removed during the procedure, minimizing the loss of healthy tissue.
Once your Mohs procedure is complete, we will coordinate with your Mohs surgeon to have Dr. Trimas carefully close the excised area, leaving the smallest scar possible.
Following your procedure, Dr. Trimas may suggest laser therapy to give the area a more aesthetically pleasing appearance.
Instructions for Biopsy Care
Clean biopsy site twice daily with a mild soap and water
Pat dry and use a Q-tip to apply antibiotic ointment (Neosporin or Bacitracin) to the biopsy site after cleaning.
If ointment diminishes during the day, then reapply.
If needed, discomfort or swelling may be minimized by icing the area every hour for 15 minutes for the first two days.
Tylenol extra strength can be taken every four hours as needed for pain.
If sutures are present, they will be removed in the office in approximately 10 days.
Avoid sun exposure to the biopsy site during the healing process.
Once area has healed, use sun protection of SPF 45 or greater to the area when outdoors.
Laser Technologies
CO2 Laser (Skin-Resurfacing Laser)
Anti-aging, skin-resurfacing laser. CO2 (carbon dioxide) Laser Skin Resurfacing treatments are more aggressive, cosmetic procedures that utilize laser light beam technology for the reduction or elimination of deep, pronounced lines and wrinkles. The strength of a CO2 Laser Treatment’s design allows for a layer-by-layer removal of problematic tissue located in deeper skin regions. If administered in a skin resurfacing treatment, the CO2 Laser can effectively correct uneven pigmentation, sun damage, precancerous spots and benign lesions also imbedded in deeper areas of tissue. The CO2 Laser Treatment is a more aggressive approach to skin resurfacing than an Erbium or Fractionated laser treatment. Although downtime after the treatment is more extensive, the results are generally more dramatic with a CO2 Laser.
Instructions for CO2 Laser

Fractionated CO2 Laser
Rejuvenate skin texture & erase fine lines. This laser works below the skin’s surface from the top down, addressing imperfections like fine lines, visible photo aging, wrinkles, scarring and age spots. Fractionated light energy stimulates your skin’s natural collagen, rejuvenating skin cells below the surface to help smooth the creases and pockets that cause wrinkles and scars. The treatment is specific, only treating targeted problem areas – so the results are focused and effective. The downtime is less than the traditional CO2 laser, and multiple treatments may be required to reach optimum results. This procedure is completed in the office under local anesthesia. To keep you comfortable, we will supply you with a prescription for a cocktail of medication and apply a numbing cream to the treated area 1 hour prior to the procedure. A driver will be needed due to the medications taken.

BroadBand Light
When you look in the mirror, do you see a problem with your skin you would like to have treated effectively and safely?
Have you tried treatments in the past that have failed? Well, you are not alone. Many patients share similar concerns related to the appearance of their skin, ranging from unwanted brown spots to unwanted hair growth.
With that in mind, at Beaches Facial Plastic & Nasal Surgery Center, we expect to surpass your expectations and maximize your results.
Therefore, it is important for us to offer treatments that are consistent with our practice expectations. As a result, Scott Trimas, MD, FACS, and Jenifer S. George, ARNP, are happy to announce the addition of Sciton BroadBand Light (BBL). In fact, we are the only practice at the Beaches to offer Sciton BBL.
BroadBand light (BBL) is an innovative, specialized filtered light that targets specific skin problems and/or concerns, on or off the face, including
Brown spots or pigmented lesions, Skin discoloration, Red spots or vascular lesions, Redness or rosacea, Fine blood vessels, Unwanted hair growth, Acne.
The number of BBL treatments will vary depending upon the issue being treated and the severity of the issue.
On average though, a patient can expect between three to four treatment sessions with the time of each treatment session varying depending upon the size of the area being treated.
At the time of treatment, protective eyewear is applied.
A cool gel will be applied to the area being treated followed by gentle contact of the Sciton BBL hand piece The hand piece is moved across the area of skin being treated delivering pulses of specialized filtered light that will target your problem and/or concern. Immediately following treatment the area may be pink and mildly swollen; that should subside in less than 12 to 24 hours. You should expect to be able to return to your daily activities with few restrictions.
At the time of your consultation your provider will discuss in detail the recommended treatment for you and answer any questions you may have with the treatment plan.
During your consultation, pre and post treatment instructions will also be discussed; abiding by these instructions will ensure safe and superior results.
Dr. Trimas and I are committed to exceeding your expectations.
With the new addition of the Sciton BBL, we have expanded our treatment options in continuing to treat your skin concerns effectively and safely. We invite you to a complimentary consultation to learn how Sciton BBL can benefit the appearance of your skin.
Laser Technologies
Diolite Laser
Treat broken blood vessels, spider veins, & skin imperfections. The Diolite® Iridex Laser generates an intense beam of light to deliver energy to a specific site, through a small hand piece connected to the laser. The laser light is absorbed by blood vessels and melanin/pigment (black or brown discoloration found in the skin) causing destruction of facial veins and sun spots by heating unwanted cells while leaving the healthy cells intact. The Diolite® Laser is best used on vascular lesions, such as Telangectasias or tiny red blood vessels, and Cherry or Spider angiomas, which are usually little red spots or web like blood vessels. After your treatment, avoid hot baths, saunas, alcohol, spicy foods, humidity, and sun exposure (can cause scarring). Do not exercise the night of the treatment.
Permanent Hair Reduction
Lip, Chin, Bikini, Legs, Underarms & more. Be rid of hair and razor burn with this easy, highly effective, and virtually pain-free therapy. Most skin types can be treated safely. Upper lip, chin, beard, bikini, back, legs, and underarms are some of the more popular areas that are requested, but any area can be done. Most treatments can be performed in less than 30 minutes with no down-time. With the recommended 6-8 treatments approximately 1 month apart, you will notice a drastic reduction in hair growth, color, and texture. Do not tan or have sunless tanner applied prior to treatment.
Scar Revision
Revise or virtually erase unwanted scars. You do not have to live with facial scars or worry about finding ways to cover them up. Dr. Trimas has extensive training and experience in the revision and camouflaging of facial scars. Depending on the type of scar, this may include excising the scar, utilizing the latest treatments in laser technology, or applying permanent color to add pigment to the scar, when necessary. Patients can enjoy a smoother, renewed appearance with little down time and in most cases local anesthetic is all that is required.
Port Wine Removal
Lighten or remove unsightly port wine stains. One in ten children are born with a vascular birthmark. Of these, one in 100 will require medical intervention. Port Wine Stains are a vascular malformation that is present at birth. These birthmarks will worsen over time and can develop a purple and coppery color with dermal thickening and nodular elevations. With the latest in laser treatment for these vascular anomalies, a gradual lightening of the birthmark will occur over time. Depending on the severity of the Port Wine Stain, several treatments are usually required and are administered approximately once a month. Dr. Trimas will develop a treatment plan specially tailored to your individual needs during your initial consultation. A topical anesthetic can be applied before the session to reduce any mild discomfort. After the treatment you may experience a minor burning sensation that may last up to several hours, and a slight crusting on the skin for approximately one week after the treatment. You may resume all normal activities immediately.
Tattoo Removal
Remove or significantly lighten unwanted tattoos. The Q-switch Yag or Ultralight-Q is a noninvasive treatment that can safely remove your tattoo with virtually no scarring. The laser uses an intense beam of light to break up the ink particles to remove or significantly lighten your tattoo. For the most effective results, multiple treatments are usually required, 4-6 weeks apart. The number of treatments needed varies per patient, depending on their particular tattoo and location, size, and ink depth will be considered. During the treatment, an immediate whitening of the skin will occur, accompanied by minor discomfort. A cool air machine or local anesthetic is used during the treatment to keep the patient comfortable. Occasionally, the epidermis is disrupted, causing minor bleeding, mild crusting, scaling or blistering. This is normal and may last up to 10 days. Optimally, the treated areas will heal without any pigment changes, however there is always the risk of or hypopigmentation (lightening) of the skin when the tattoo is removed. Some degree of residual pigmentation usually occurs. Following the treatment it will be necessary to wear a dressing for 5-7 days. Avoid sun exposure prior to the procedure and during the healing process. Once the area has healed, you may return to all normal activities following the treatment.
Injectables
Botox Cosmetic
BOTOX® Cosmetic, introduced in 2002, is the first botulinum toxin to be approved by the FDA to temporarily treat moderate to severe lines and wrinkles BOTOX® Cosmetic is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the brows, on the forehead, and crow’s feet area. The benefits of Botox® can be seen 3-5 days following the injection, and full results are present at 14 days. Patients look refreshed and less tired after the onset of the treatment. Results typically last up to 3-4 months. Botox® can also be administered for the treatment of hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) in the underarms, hands and feet. It helps control the symptoms of severe sweating when topical medicines do not work well enough by temporarily blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands. The results can last up to one year.
Dysport
Dysport® is a prescription injection used to temporarily improve the look of your moderate to severe frown lines without changing the look of your whole face. The untreated facial muscles still work normally, allowing you to freely show facial expressions, such as smiling, in untreated areas. The results can last up to 3-4 months.
Xeomin
When you squint or frown, the muscles between your brows contract, causing the skin to furrow and fold. These lines that occur due to facial mimics are referred to as dynamic lines. Over time, as your skin ages and loses some of its elasticity, these repeated contractions can cause persistent frown lines. Botulinum toxin type A – the active ingredient in XEOMIN® is used in facial aesthetic treatment to treat dynamic lines like glabellar frown lines. It acts on nerve endings in muscles to prevent muscle fibers from contracting. By reducing these contractions, XEOMIN® can temporarily reduce the frown lines on your forehead between your eyes.
Restylane
Restylane® is a temporary dermal filler that can last up to a year. It adds volume and fullness to the lips and skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds), or under your eyes.
Juvederm
Juvederm® is a temporary dermal filler that lasts up to a year. It adds volume and fullness to the lips and skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds).
Belotero Balance
BELOTERO BALANCE® is a dermal filler specially designed to integrate into your skin and mold to your distinct facial contours. By adapting to the individuality of your skin, it softens lines and wrinkles around the nose and mouth for smooth and natural results that are uniquely you. BELOTERO BALANCE® Dermal Filler has unique properties that allow it to adapt within the skin for soft and even correction. The versatility of the product makes it strong enough to handle deep treatment areas such as nasolabial folds (smile lines around the mouth), yet soft enough to treat more delicate areas such as vertical lip lines (thin lines that appear above the lip line). BELOTERO BALANCE® Dermal Filler is made of a material called hyaluronic acid or HA. HA naturally exists as a component of your skin. By binding to water, it fills in wrinkles and folds, allowing immediate and smooth correction.
Radiesse
Radiesse® is a wrinkle-filler and volumizer that stimulates your own natural collagen production. The results are instant, as it works immediately upon injection. RADIESSE® acts as a scaffold under the skin, providing structure and stimulation to your own natural collagen to growth. The production of natural collagen continues for several months, which extends beyond the initial effect of RADIESSE® Volumizing Filler. It lasts over a year in some patients.
Sculptra
Sculptra® works to correct shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds, as it replaces lost collagen, which can help provide a refined, more youthful looking appearance. To achieve the best results, typically 3-5 injection sessions over 3-4 months is needed. It is the first facial injectable that gives patients subtle results over time. It can last up to 3 years on some patients.
ArteFill
ArteFill® is the long-lasting, permanent solution for wrinkle correction, lasting nearly five years. Wrinkles continue to improve over the course of several months and last longer than temporary fillers. A skin test is required 4 weeks prior to treatment to rule out any potential allergies.
Fat Augmentation
Fat injections are most useful for treating large areas of the face that are in need of volume restoration such as the mid facial areas, cheeks and temples. Multiple sessions are usually required and you must have ample fat available. This procedure is a good long-term choice for most individuals.

Testimonials
SP
Dear Dr. Trimas, It was a pleasure meeting you! I just wanted to thank you for your excellent care on my first office visit. Having just moved here from another city, it is difficult to find a plastic surgeon with expertise such as yours! I am fortunate to have found such a physician! I also want to extend my appreciation to your staff. Leah and Jackie were very friendly and made me feel very welcome. I am very happy to recommend your practice to anyone needing services! I look forward to future office visits!
DC
Just had to let you know how much I appreciate you and the excellent services you provide. I look 10 years younger today! I would trust myself to none but you.
KO
I had a great experience and wish to have many more to come! What a wonderful staff, which made me more comfortable than I could’ve imagined. Everything turned out just right for me. There was not one question left unanswered.
MM
I haven’t liked my nose, especially my profile, since high school. At my first appointment, I explained my specific concerns with the appearance of my nose, as well as recurrent sinus & breathing issues that I had been experiencing. Upon examination, you explained that my septum was extremely deviated. The insurance & billing department helped me by having part of my surgery covered by insurance. My procedure was performed on a Friday morning & I was back to work on Monday at 1pm. You were conservative yet effective with my rhinoplasty; so much so that friends & family couldn’t quite pinpoint what was different about me, but they complimented that I looked great! I’m so happy with my new nose and I have fewer sinus and headache issues due to my septoplasty surgery.
Bob W.
I am proud to say that Dr. Trimas is my doctor. Like most of us, we’re getting a little older. Dr. Trimas has done miracles for me. I highly recommend him and his helpful staff to anyone looking for a talented Facial Plastic Surgeon.
SK
Dear Dr. Trimas and Staff, Thank you so much for the beautiful work you have done on our daughter. We have recommended you to all of our friends. Your staff was so kind and helpful with all of our concerns, we cannot thank you enough. Dr. Trimas is a master artist in his field of Facial Plastic Surgery, and we are so happy we had him for our daughter’s surgery. What we love the most is that she still has the ethnic look of her heritage, but now her nose is no longer the center of attention on her face.

Dr. Trimas, You & your staff at Atlantic Surgery Center took such great care of me. The nurses were amazing, the anesthesiologist was an actual doctor not a nurse anesthetist, and the surgery center was private & comfortable, & AAAHC certified. I felt so safe & comfortable. You are an amazing surgeon and so down-to-earth. I would definitely suggest you to anyone considering a rhinoplasty.
Mary
Dr. Trimas, I hope that you can add the “ice pick scarring” to your list of services. I cannot tell you the difference it has made in my life. I feel so much more confident and attractive!
SQ
Dr. Trimas put me immediately at ease. He also steered me away from a complete eyelift (which would have made him more money) to only undereye surgery. He did a fantastic job, patiently answered all my questions, and provided excellent follow up care for a full year after. I would never consider going to anyone else if I need anything, and I have recommended him to everyone, including my mother.
Carolyn Hottinger
I am so grateful for your extraordinary cosmetic/surgical services and exceptional post-surgical care! Your generosity in accommodating me with follow-up procedures is appreciated beyond words. Each of you have shown exemplary kindness and graciousness. Your exuberant spirit enlightened each visit. With admiration and thankfulness for a phenomenally enriching “cosmetic” experience and sweet, benevolent care.

Dear Dr. Trimas and team, I’ve been having both surgical and non-surgical procedures for the last 12 years. Starting in Pittsburgh, then in Orlando, and a few places in Jax before Beaches Facial; by far, this office has been the most genuine, welcoming, and accommodating! I always tell everyone how wonderful this staff is and what an expert Dr. Trimas is at everything he has performed on me!
ST
It is now five months since Dr. Trimas performed several procedures for me. At the time, I told him I wanted unnecessary signs of aging around the mouth and neck reduced without giving the impression I had been “lifted,” somewhat of a tall order. I have to say, though, after encountering all my friends, he succeeded marvelously. I get many compliments on “looking well,” without anyone sussing out I have had considerable work done. For this, I am unbelievably grateful to Scott Trimas. The word “wizard” comes to mind.
D.M.
Dear Dr. Trimas and Staff, Let me start off by saying “I LOVE MY NOSE.” Dr. Trimas, you are a wonderful facial plastic surgeon. I can’t tell you how many years I have wanted rhinoplasty. I have agonized about it for 25 years. First I was too young, and as I got older I got a little scared about the surgery itself. I even went to a few consultations and I never felt comfortable having the surgery done by that surgeon. The confidence I have no is amazing. Every time I feel someone looking at me from the side I don’t turn my head anymore, I just let them look at me. I was so self-conscious about my nose and never wanted anyone looking at me from the side. I found you on the internet (thank God). I loved your work. The pictures of your rhinoplasty surgeries on the internet were amazing. I think you have a gift and the eye of an artist. Your clients look so natural, like they should be. I drove to Jacksonville from Orlando to meet you and your staff. Everyone, from the time I got there until the time I left, made me feel very comfortable. After I met you I felt you knew exactly what I wanted and you listened to me and talked me through the whole procedure. In fact, that day I made the appointment for the surgery on my 40th birthday. I knew you were the one!! I left that day so excited and smiled all the way home. Having the surgery done with you made it worth the wait. You did such a beautiful job, my recovery was so quick and without any complications. My scars have healed beautifully. To this day, no one except my immediate family knows about the surgery. My friend and acquaintances just look at me and tell me I look better than ever. They can’t figure it out and because my recovery was so quick, they didn’t have to know. There will never be enough THANK YOU’S to express what you have done for me. I would recommend you to anyone.

Dr. Trimas, Hi there, I just wanted to say that I am very pleased with the new me, it felt like a new lease on life. I have no regrets and am grateful for the work you did. Given I work so hard on the rest of the body it was so sad to lose ground on the face, the most important part. Keep up the good work!!!
