Class Descriptions
Reformer II/III
Reformer class for more advanced pilates practitioners who are comfortable with managing the equipment independently in a class setting. Clients have the ability to multitask and are free of any major injury. Please check with an instructor to determine if this level class is appropriate for you if you have any questions.
MatSculpt/tower I/II
Pilates principles utilizing small hand weights, magic circles, physioballs, foam rollers, springs and straps. This is a toning/sculpting class taught from the core! You will use and strengthen, lengthen and shape-up every muscle in your body.
Intro/Injured and Special Populations I
This class is for those clients in Pre/Post Rehabilitaion, recovery from an injury, or spinal misalignment. It is also appropriate for Pre/Post Pregnancy and clients new to pilates who are transitioning into classes. Modifications from the classical Pilates repertoire will be applied to accomodate special and individual situations. Prerequisite Notes: Instructor evaluation required before attendance to this class allowed.
Tower Level II/III
Prior knowledge of Basic Pilates Principles required, prior knowledge/performance of Pilates Tower equipment exercises recommended.
Tower/Chair Level I/II
Level I/II Tower/Chair provies an introduction and progression into the Pilates Tower and Chair pieces of equipment. Prior Pilates Reformer experiance is stronly suggested.
Reformer JumpBoard - level II/III
The Jump Board - an extension of the regular Pilates Reformer repertoire adds a dimension of cardiovascular work, added demands on the core and legs, requiring more advanced coordination of the basic principles. Only for those with previous level II/III reformer experience and solid control of the lower torso. FUN! CHALLENGING! Prerequisite Notes: experience with level II/III principles, healthy spine and knees.
Beginning Reformer/Mix I/II
Beginning level to the Reformer, Tower and other small apparatus.
Reformer Level I/II
Level I/II requires a basic understanding of Pilates fundamentals and is for those who have had prior experiance at an intro level.
Pilates Core Conditioning- level II/III
Reformer/Mat Level II/III
Level II/III requires prior knowledge of the Pilates Reformer repertoire. Mat is also included to to enhance your practice by aiding in the development of core strength as well as other Pilates fundamentals such as flexibility and control.
Feldenkrais/Neuro-Movement/INTRO
Introductory level - 6-punch intro pass - $60 available ON-LINE, OR You may sign up ON LINE and pay drop-in rate of $15 at class time. ** Come explore the way you move with neuro-movement classes! Using slow, gentle movements done wih attention, the lessons will help you wake up forgotten parts of your body, bring ease and power to your movements, and build the nervous system connections between your body and your brain. Wear loose, comfortable clothing.
Winter Conditioning/Pilates Mix
And winter continues! This class is a pilates mix of II/III using all equipment and incorporating functional movement exercises with the classical pilates method. This class requires that clients have a knowledge of the basic principles of pilates and are generally injury free.
Reformer Level II/III
Level II/III requires prior knowledge of the classical Pilates Reformer Repertoire. Prerequisite Notes: requires prior knowlege of the classical Pilates Reformer repertoire.
Mixed Pilates Equipment II/III
This class combines the use of of all the Pilates Equipment, Reformer, Tower, Pilates Chair, and small apparatus to give clients a full body, core-focused, high energy workout. This class is appropriate for someone who can independently manage all the different pieces of equipment in a class setting and has the ability to multitask and is free of acute injury. Please see an instructor to verify your appropriateness for this class if you have questions.

Our talents are not limited to Pilates, we also offer private lessons in GYROTONIC & GYROKINESIS
as well as classes utilizing the PhysioBALL, foam rollers, light weights and props. Saturdays we often hold special workshops, classes and seminars in GYROKINESIS®, Qi Gong, REIKI and Feldenkrais as well as other holistic techniques and modalities. (Call for schedule.) Biographies
Jackie Stoffel (Owner)
Jackie has been living in Breckenridge for 24 years, raising a family with her 36 year partner/husband, Dave. She taught dance and step aerobics, performed with modern dance companies, became a personal trainer, brought Fit Ball classes to Summit County and was the pioneer Pilates trainer in the Summit, introducing Pilates here in 1997. SPHEERIS PILATES is the culmination of many years of study in various movement modalities. Jackie's primary Pilates certification is from The Pilates Center in Boulder, Colorado. Jackie's extensive background in dance performance arts with a BS from CU in Boulder, a Master of Education from C.S.U. in Fort Collins CO, GYROTONIC™certification, Functional Movement Training and REIKI II certifications, training in GYROKINESIS, Psych-K, Healing Touch and Healing Touch For Animals, the study of herbal medicine and nutrition, Life Coach training as well as her vigorous and demanding Pilates certification from TPC and others, all enable her to deliver a unique and powerful combination of "Holistic Fitness" techniques. "I believe the body can heal itself given the right tools, Movement is a gift of healing for body, mind and spirit!"
Tracy O'connell
Tracy has lived and worked in Summit County for 30 plus years. Her primary Pilates certification is from Polestar Education. Tracy is also certified in GYROTONIC™ and trained in GYROKINESIS™. Tracy has over two decades of fitness and personal training credits. Her dedication and passion for her work at Spheeris is paramount. You can also look for her as a server "extraordinaire" at Relish! Yum.
Marjorie Biggs
Marjorie is an '09 graduate of The Pilates Center in Boulder Colorado. She is a full time administrative assistant at First Bank, so her exuberant teaching style carries itself into evening and Sunday classes and is available for private and semi-privates in the evening hours as well. Marjorie walks softly, but carries a big and creative stick! She can coax more out of you than you knew was possible with her experienced eye and vivid imagery. Her future includes continuing education as an Injured and Special Populations instructor and TPC Masters program.
Alyssa Liner
Alyssa comes to us from Maui, Hawaii. where she completed her STOTT PILATES intensive Reformer training. This past spring, she completed her full certification through STOTT PILATES in Denver. Congratulations Alyssa, it was hard fought and won graciously!! Her Certification credits; Reformer, Mat, Injured & Special Populations (I.S.P.) The Cadillac, Chair, Small Apparatus and Barrel. This is Alyssa's fourth season at Spheeris.
Ellie Allan
Ellie is a graduate and Master's program student from The Pilates Center in Boulder Colorado. Ellie's enthusiasm for Pilates is now renewed, as a recent graduate from Regis University, with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. We are ecstatic to have her on board at Spheeris again, with this shiny new degree giving her a bright new perspective on her teaching. And bonus, she is working upstairs with Breckenridge Physical Therapy! Welcome back "Dr." Ellie!!
David Singleton
David is the Owner of Summit Movement Center, Frisco,Colorado. He is a practitioner of theAnat Baniel Methodof Feldenkrais,a neuro-movement method that uses the movement of the body to affect change in the nervous system and brain. He is also an accomplished ski instructor, currently teaching at the Breckenridge Ski and Ride school. David has resided in Summit County since 2004, with his two children, ages 7 & 5. David will be teaching a Feldenkrais class, With emphasis on skier conditioning and recovery from injury, Thursday mornings at 8 this season at Spheeris Pilates. He is available for private consultations and lessons as well. Welcome David!
