Rug restoration is truly a rare art form.
Before we start to take care of the rug repair and restoration, we consider the type of the damage in order to determine the repair method and technique. If there is a tear in the rug, we have to make the foundation on which we can tie the knots and make the pile. In this case we have to match the weave, color of the yarn, design, etc. If the sides and fringes are damaged, we may have to unravel part of the weave to make the fringes over again in order to proceed with the rebinding of knots. We do not attach, sew or glue prefabricated fringes. We make fringes from the foundation of the rug itself. Everything is custom made and done by hand by our expert carpet and rug repair professionals who work on site.

Hand-Woven & Machine-Made Rugs Made of
Oriental rugs need specific care considering the materials they are made of. Hand-woven & Machine-made Rugs made of:
Silk
Wool
Cotton
Other Natural & Industrial Materials
Care Tips
The wonders of wool
Oriental rugs are generally made of wool and are easily and economically maintained. Rugs of wool are extremely durable and consistently out-perform other materials. Unlike other fibers, wool is much more resilient, cleans better and stays clean longer.
Cleaning
Oriental rug and carpet clinic experts will insure a skilled cleaning that brings out the richness of color and softness of the wool. Depending on the amount of traffic, a professional washing of your Oriental rug is recommended every one to two years.
Rotation
To insure even wear, your rug should be rotated once a year. Depending on the traffic, the rotation may vary from six months to two years.
Vacuuming
Oriental rugs, like most carpeting, should be vacuumed on a regular basis to remove dirt and restore life to the fibers. Be sure not to vacuum the fringe.
Padding
A quality pad used under your rug helps protect it from dirt, wear and slippage. We will be happy to recommend the correct padding.
Restoration
In case of damage, just about any problem has a solution with a professional restoration. Old and antique rugs sometimes need to be rewoven where worn and restored to life. Newer rugs are rarely in need of repair. An experienced professional must always be consulted in these matters. Call 303-222-7770.
Blotting stains
When spills occur, dilute with plenty of water. Next, blot from the edge of the spill towards the center. Avoid rubbing the area. For solid spills, take a spoon and carefully scoop-up the material. It is always best to attack the spill immediately. For further advice, contact us. We will be glad to help. Call 303-222-7770
Cleaning
Rugs and carpets cleaned by Oriental Rug & Carpet Clinic stay cleaner longer and promote a healthier working and living environment. We use natural and fine-fabric friendly cleaning detergents and water, the cleaning method of rug weavers, and we maintain the key traditional methods that keep your rug and carpet safe and durable. We take pride in the satisfaction of our customers and understand the value of a lifetime customer. While some companies air-clean the rugs or just vacuum, we prefer to clean oriental rugs the way the rug weavers would approve of the process. Regardless of the size and type, each rug goes through 5 steps of cleaning.
All rugs arrived in our plant are checked thoroughly in order to assign the right type of wash and cleaning.
The process starts by supporting the weak area of the rug to prevent further damage during the undusting and cleaning process.
Our experienced staff remove the fine dust that has been accumulated by traffic, shoes and air.
Third, we examine the type of stain; whether oil-based or water-based, we take special care to remove them before the overall wash.
We gently rinse the rug using water and a low detergent soap.
A temperature-controlled area helps them dry naturally.

Judge How Dirty a Rug
To judge how dirty a rug is, try one of these methods:
Pick up a corner of the rug and while holding it, kick the back of the rug sharply.
If a cloud of dirt flies out of the pile, the rug is dirty and needs cleaning. NOTE: some dust and wool fibers are normal!
Kneel down on the rug and rub the pile vigorously with your hand in a short arc for 5 to 10 seconds.
Look at your fingers and palm: if your hand is dirty, the rug needs cleaning.
With the pile facing UP fold part of the rug back upon itself so that the pile opens along a line of knots.
Look down into the base of the pile at the foundation of the rug. If the warp and weft look dirty, there is dirt deep in the pile where a home vacuum cleaner cannot reach it. The rug needs cleaning.
