For Emergencies and special circumstances don't hesitate to call us!
These hours allow feeding
cleaning and dog walking to run smoothly and without interruption. (When it's time for your dog to eat or go for a walk it might not want to wait while your neighbor's dog checks in!)
It is a huge benefit to your pet that we live on site.
However, not always so much for us. In order to enjoy some quiet time and family or personal time we try to maintain regular hours as stated above. Sometimes this does not work for you, so for these times we will work with you to accommodate your schedule. Just ask!
About Us
We are a family business!
We are regular everyday people. Our Sunday School back ground and Rural Roots taught us we should practice kindness and patience, and to use our hands, head and hearts at all times. We are small in size but large in the level of care offered. For more than 60 years we have been active in caring for the furry and fuzzy. We live on site and offer a country setting. A lovely 500 acre farm just two miles north of our home town of Richland, Mo. You will have easy access to Maplehill from I - 44, state highways 7 and 133, and county route A. There is even a small airstrip by the golf course just one mile away. So, wherever you are in the universe you can get here from there. Come on, we will welcome you and your pets will thank you!!
Our Business, A Pleasure
Ours is not really a business, it is a calling, with the 5th generation now in training. We have learned a lot during this time, like how to treat pets and their people. We understand that our visitors must eat, will poop and might bark or purr. And we don't care! At Maplehill we look forward to caring for your pets whenever you can not.
A Pleasure, Our Passion
We have shared our lives with dogs in another way as well. In addition to our boarding and grooming business we have been exhibiting show dogs since 1964. There are many AKC Grand Champions, International Champions and Bermuda Champions that carry the Twin Oaks Kennel name. This is our show kennel and farm prefix identity. Among the many dog breeds we have owned and/or finished are the Cocker Spaniel, English Setter, English Springer Spaniel, Pointer, Welch Corgi, Boxer, Shiloh Shepherd, Wire haired Dachshund and West Highland White Terrier. We have also exhibited the Afghan Hounds, Borzoi, Labrador Retriever, Golden Retrievers, Rottweilers, German Shepherd Dogs, Belgian Tervuren, Newfoundland, and Italian Greyhounds. In addition to exhibiting at AKC dogshow events, we own and have exhibited Tennessee Walking Horses and Fox Trotter Horses as well as several breeds of cattle.
This was a wonderful way to grow up.
Five generations of one family traveling the USA, Canada, and Bermuda. We have visited many wonderful places but most importantly we have met great people that have become our lifetime friends. There is not a better way of life anywhere. We will put all this experience to work when we care for your dog.
We look forward to meeting you and your pets and sharing our love for what we do with you.
