Keratin Treatment Process
Your hair is made up of keratin. A keratin treatment puts the protein back into the hair, which is often lost due to age and chemical services. Keratin treatments provide a protein layer over the cuticle which protects and seals the damaged areas, giving you an increase in shine, less frizz, and an easier styling process. As the hair is protected for an extended time, the overall condition of your is improved. Pioneered in Brazil, the Brazilian Keratin Treatment ( also known as Brazilian Blowouts ) is able to be preformed on All types of chemically treated hair (bleached, colored, permed, relaxed or previously straightened) It is used on frizzy, damaged, unhealthy, dull and mistreated hair. This treatment eliminates frizz, unruly curls and waves without making it too flat. Whats nice about this treatment, is that it doesn't "grow out" it gradually and evenly washes out after 10-12 weeks and sometimes longer. This system does not guarantee straight hair but can relax between 50 and 90 percent of the curl depending on texture, if done correctly.

Vanessa is Certified in many types of keratin treatments. Pure Brazilian, Brazilian Blowout, Keratin Complex and Cadiveu Plastica dos fios. She utilizes her consultation time to decide the best keratin treatments for each client. It is not a one size fits all. There are many factors in deciding what keratin treatments to use on what types of hair.
Experience
Vanessa is a California native. She started her career in 1999 in one of the biggest salons in downtown San Francisco. She apprenticed for 2 very busy colorists and learned from a very fast paced color room of talented artists, many of whom own their own salons in downtown San Francisco. She was a colorist for 10 years at 77 Maiden Lane until the doors closed in 2000. From 2000 to present she is apart of the amazing Patrick Evan Salon family. Which quickly rose to the top salon in S.F.. She has had the good fortune to learn from a Thermal Recondioning and Keratin Treatment Master and be trained extensively in Keratin treatments by Patrick Evan himself. It was here at this top notch salon, that she was called upon by well known author for film and television, Gretchen Davis, to provide a chapter in the Hair Stylists Handbook. Vanessa now lives in Las Vegas and works in a fabulous boutique salon, The Salon by Elba of New York, specializing in Keratin Treatments. She also makes guest appearances at Patrick Evan Salon once a month. So whether your in Las Vegas or San Francisco and looking for an experienced expert in keratin treatments, look no further.
