Manual Lymph Drainage

Your lymphatic system is your body's waste management system, responsible for clearing toxins, reducing swelling, and optimizing healing. A clean lymphatic system leads to stronger healing. MLD is not a massage therapy in the traditional sense. Massage is directed towards the musculo-skeletal system, MLD addresses the lymphatic system and its pathways. The human body contains between 500 and 700 lymph nodes, and these are directly part of our bodies waste filtration system. The lymph is just under the surface of the skin and require a very light pumping action to move them along. The aim is to promote the lymph flow not cut it off with deeper strokes. Studies confirm that MLD can resolve post-operative swelling and fibrosis in as little as 6 weeks to 3 months, significantly shortening recovery time. For optimal results, 3 to 5 sessions before surgery and 6 consecutive sessions immediately after surgery are recommended. MLD is not just a luxury—it's an essential part of your healing journey.

MLD of the Face, Head, Neck, and Shoulders for your personal health and beauty! Manual lymph drainage is a gentle, pulsing massage technique that speeds the movement of lymphatic fluid, promotes circulation, and reduces inflammation. It is said to help improve the appearance of the skin by reducing swelling and puffiness to the face and head (especially after surgery). Our own clientele has suggested with regular lymphatic drainage sessions their wrinkles and fine lines improved. One client said it relieved her foggy brain and another experienced rapid healing after a facelift. A third said it opened her breathing and got rid of her chronic sinus infections. We know physicians have referred their long Covid patients to us for MLD. But keep in mind that your lymphatic system is directly dependent on a healthy immune system. And that is achieved the old-fashioned way with a healthy diet, exercise, sleep, managing stress, etc. So, everyone is different and may require a different number of sessions to see the same results. One thing is for certain, at New Jersey Massage, our therapists are trained in the latest lymphatic skills. Larry Heisler, M.A., LMT

One of New Jersey's massage therapy pioneers, Larry Heisler, M.A., LMT is the founder and director of the longest running massage school in the Garden State, The North Jersey Massage Training Center (originally called The New Jersey School of Massage). Located since 1980 at the Parsippany Medical Complex, Larry has taught continuing education to over 10,000 students, and was inducted into the Massage Therapy Hall of Fame in 2019. Today, Larry's school, known as New Jersey Massage, LLC. offers the largest continuing education program for massage therapists in the surrounding five-state region. Offering yearly over two hundred classes in every style of massage therapy. Larry's personal revolutionary approach to bodywork is based on the direct influence the acupuncture meridian system (Energetic System) has on the human musculature. His book, Soft Tissue Revolution: A New Bodywork Paradigm is based on the clinical experience Larry has in treating over 60,000 patients including thousands of athletes. Larry holds degrees and certifications in psychotherapy, nutrition, education, and ministry. In fact, it is the ministry aspect that has been the impetus for Larry's latest book called, The Book of Life: An Owner's Manual. This year, 2024 Larry celebrates the 49th anniversary of officiating his meditation class called the Open-Heart Healing and Meditation Circle. Kathleen McCready, LMT

Kathy is the owner and director PROVIDENCE! Integrated Health and Fitness in New Providence, one of the elite facilities New Jersey Massage offers massage services in. Along with being a world class personal trainer, who incidentally was Jack Lalanne's number one personal trainer in the tri-state at Bally's fitness, Kathy is also a licensed massage therapist in all styles and specializing in Manual Lymph Drainage, Hot Stone and myofascial therapy. As a young woman growing up in New York, she became a student of The Julliard School and graduated from The School of American Ballet. She danced under the direction of Russian choreographer George Balanchine. Later on she performed classical ballet with the Pacific Northwest Ballet, San Francisco Ballet and culminated as the prima ballerina of the New Jersey Ballet. Her dance career blossomed on Broadway starring in such well known productions as "Sugar Babies." A true world class athlete, she is a constant advocate of health and wellness. With licenses and certifications in massage therapy and spa therapies, hatha yoga, Gyrotonics® and Pilates, Kathy has given thousands of massage treatments and has taught over 16,000 fitness classes. Bianca Franchi, LMT, NCTMB

Bianca is an extraordinary woman with special massage talents that has been offering massage therapy since the 1980's. Michelle is a state certified massage therapist with close to a decade of clinical experience.
