Five Star Training
We offer puppy and basic classes. We do Saturdays and Wednesdays. Special cases must be evaluated. Five Star will modify training for you. (All classes are not charged by the hour, they are based upon time needed to allow for quality.)
Five Star training programs are not limited to our standard packages
We happily offer specific programs that are specially modified to fit dog/owner expectations. Years of experience in training have taught us that there are hundreds of ways to train dogs, and more importantly, their owners.
Five Star training focuses on owner training which ensures the owner becomes the pack leader
This, in turn, creates a healthy, well balanced relationship between you and your dog! This is also a huge factor in succeeding.
It is our goal to make the program fun for You and Your favorite Canine Companion!
After an initial evaluation appointment, we work with you to custom design your dog and owner training program!

How to find the right Dog for you
What is your lifestyle? Active, non-active, long work days, do you stay at home, kids, yard, house, apartment. Do your research on the breed or if a rescue the dominant breed in the mix. This will prepare you for certain characteristics, and traits to expect from particular breeds and can help you to identify the breed that will most appropriately fit your lifestyle. After all you are selecting a new member of your family and knowing what you are getting is key in finding the perfect match for you.
Owner Training
It is so important to modify the training for the family, with training it is crucial for commands to be consistent, learning is going to be simplified when there is a structured routine that everyone follows, for example when you are teaching your child to read you do not teach them several different ways, you follow a strict regimen thus allowing your dog to better understand and increase his ability to excel. Our training programs focus highly on training the owner, a professional trainer can easily get your dog to work, the trick is getting your dog to work for you. Our programs are fun and focus intensely on establishing respect from your dog, you MUST become the pack leader and this is where we step in to create a synchronized understanding between you and your dog. This.
Puppy
At 8-10 wks old your dog has cognative learning capacity can begin potty, chewing, nipping training, and how to prevent such habits at early age.... You are establishing the leader role as the puppy's mother would do. Main reason why puppies nip and chew is because they are teething and discovering the world as they know it with their mouths, they do not have hands, this is their way of discovering, exploring their environment, however you are able to create boundaries for them being the pack leader every puppy is different and all training needs to be modified to fit specific needs. This is comparable to every child being an individual, so is your puppy.
Obedience
Best age to begin obedience training is 12 wks of age, at this point your dog can recognize basic commands...It is also never too late to train an older dog. Teach the dog the right way before the dog learns the wrong way (ex.) Teaching a kid at a young age vs. teaching a child at an older age. Start the foundation of basic obedience so that owner can become pack leader from the beginning. Basic obedience commands include sit, stay, heal, down and come on leash. You must train on leash before training off leash. The reason for this is on leash basic commands is the first building block of the training pyramid. Your dogs only desire is to please you, your dog WANTS to work for you obedience training is a job for him and excelling at this is stimulating his mind and building his confidence, resulting in a happy, healthy dog from early age. There are 100 different ways to train dogs as well as their owners. It is Five Stars way to pinpoint which training methods will best suit you and your family.

You and your dog have a healthy, happy relationship You as the dogs owner have established the alpha role, your dog respects you. Having a well trained dog results in a happy companion because he has achieved his goal which is to please you. A well balanced relationship between your dog is the beginning of a lifelong loving relationship. Five Star is rewarded by assisting owners and pets reach their full potential.

Once arriving at Five Star to tour the facility, our arriving guests can conveniently drive directly up for arrival and departures under a covered carport.
we like to ensure that our guests arrive and leave nice and dry if weather does not permit.
Our returning four-legged clients are always arriving with wagging tails.
Our caring, loving staff always greet your furry friend as if they are our own and in return receive many thankful licks.
Before entering our Boarding area
you will be surprised to hear and smell, or should I say... not... hear barking or smell anything other than the typical fact that we do board dogs.
At maximum capacity
all 37 suites occupied you would never believe it, our resort environment is peaceful and quiet. Our guests enjoy relaxing the day away in their own individual suites. We do not use ANY cages or chain link.
Our facility is custom designed to create a stress free environment, with private suites, designed with actual doors for the home-like feel they are able to relax not constantly seeing other dogs.
Each suite is equipped with an elevated bed
water at all times, and an individual drain (hygienically clean) Every morning every single suite is cleaned (sprayed, scrubbed, squeegeed and mopped) Bowls are switched out daily, three times a day your dog is walked outside to their own individual potty run.
Outdoor potty runs are welded metal runs with adequate spacing between the runs so that no dogs can come into contact with one another.
Accommodations inclusive to Five Star
include indoor suites measuring 4.5 x 6.5 ft., 5.5 x 7.5,(standard) and our (deluxe VIP) suites measuring 10 x 10, indoor-outdoor 4.5 x 6.5 inside by 5 x 10 outside with a view of spacious secluded woodlands and on days that weather permits have the access to go in and out as they please.
4,000 Sq. feet of non-slip floors throughout the facility
ceiling fans with central ventilation system, central heating and air, drinkable water hose, filtered water system, a dishwasher for our bowls to ensure proper sanitation, motion detectors, surround sound music at night time and a blanket fairy
Our furry guests get a cubby assigned to them for their personal belongings, (meds, their food, and toys allowed include durable ones such as nyla bones, kongs, etc.
we do not give our dogs rawhide or stuffed animals for the safety of your dog.
Other Info Dog Grooming
Any injections that need to be given there will be an a $3 charge per day.
If your dog needs special handling, i.e. human aggressive, specialized treatment (i.e. post surgery, have to walk with harness) that will be $50 per night for boarding
If your dog needs medication please bring in something that the dog can take the pill in as we cannot have a dog take medication out of our hands
If your dog needs medication more than twice a day (morning and night) with their meal, there will be an extra charge
When departure day arrives we offer a bath (bath includes nails and is based on size and coat of your dog).

Your Five Star Master Groomer.
A groomers reputation is best represented by word-of-mouth, and Five Star testimonials will give you insight to how truly talented our Master Groomer really is.
Our Five Star Master Groomer has a special way with our furry friends and has had several clients that in the past would have had to be sedated.
We also have a following of rescue clients whose owners feel safe only with our Master Groomer's handling due to their unfortunate past.
Five Star Grooming clients not only leave with show stopping style.
they leave with waggin' tails, relaxed, and have "doo's" that all their furry neighborhood friends will be envious of. Clients owners appreciate our flexible hours, and the ability to get appointments when they need.
If you are boarding at Five Star your dog can be groomed on their departure day to save you an extra trip.
As another convenience you can drop your dog off on the way into work and pick up on the way home knowing that they will be catered to by our boarding staff.
When finished with their pampered pooch experience they can spend the rest of the day in their private suite able to relax.

The COVID-19 virus has changed our daily lives, changed the way we work and challenged all of us in unprecedented ways.
However, it hasn't changed who we are - your pet is our guest and going above and beyond to accommodate their needs is our top priority. The efforts that we have taken to keep both our employees and you, are customers, safe is a huge undertaking in both time and resources. The purchase of disinfectants, masks, gloves, and other items has been overwhelming.
Effective January 1, 2021, boarding prices for indoor suites will be $37 per night regardless of the weight of the dog.
Our indoor/outdoor suites prices will remain unchanged at $45 per night. Our VIP suites price will increase to $50 per night. Nail Trimming will increase to $10. Also, for dogs with special needs, such as dogs that have seizures or dogs with multiple medications that must be given at specific times, there will be an additional $10 rate charge per night. Also, effective January 1, 2021, grooming prices will start at $55.
We are re-instating the late pick-up fee of $15 for pick-ups after 12:00 noon Monday through Sunday.
And finally, because we care about your health and safety as well as our employees, we will continue to support social distancing protocols in the resort and the requirement of wearing a mask when inside the resort.

Boarding Prices
Playtime while boarding - $5 a session; we do not charge extra for medicine or bringing your own food. Insulin shots we do charge and extra $3 a day. For human aggressive dogs we will charge $50 per night.

We are a group of animal lovers first, and dog trainers, groomers and caretakers second. We have been to many facilities over our 30+ years of experience and never found that “perfect” place that combined every thing we felt was necessary for a dog’s happiness. This facility is a combination of all of those. With future plans to expand our facility to include more experiences for your pet, we are and always will be the best facility for your pet.
