About Us
We opened the Everyday Gourmet & Fine Food Merchant, in Ebensburg, on January 10, 2011 and haven't looked back!
I always wanted to open my own restaurant, but was not sure how I could. Then, a few years back, I invited my grandfather over for dinner to visit and see what we had done with his house, since we had purchased it from him. He took me into the basement and showed me all of the inventions he had created over the years. Some of which are actual products on the market now, patented by someone else. He would show me an invention and excitedly explain his idea. Then his eyes would drop and he would say "I wish I would have done something with this."
A year later, my grandfather passed away. I told my wife, Mindy, that I did not want to be 80 something and saying I wish I would have opened a restaurant. So, with her unequaled support, and the support of my family, I cashed in every penny of my retirement, mortgaged the house and went for broke!
I believe that we will be successful, because we have the love and dedication to make the Everyday Gourmet something special. I also believe that my grandfather is proud of us and is supporting us in heaven. Our faith is strong, and God has always carried us through the tough times. We have the support of our families and we are building wonderful relationships within the town of Ebensburg. The support of the town is the final lynchpin and we are on our way!
