We Train the Owners and the Dogs!
Importance of Obedience Training
Communities and people are becoming intolerant of what they perceive as unsafe dogs and are enforcing dangerous dog laws. It is, therefore, essential that your dog is well trained so he doesn't project this image. Dog obedience is also an excellent tool to help you bond with your dog and establish yourself as his leader through our kind, proven method of training.
Instruction Sheets
At the end of class, you will receive a detailed instruction sheet explaining how to do each exercise that was taught in class; i.e., Sit, stand, down, come, etc. This will ensure that you are training your dog correctly as you work with your dog at home between classes.
Training Facility
Our training facility is very conducive to learning because we have two separate floors to conduct classes; therefore, you are not trying to hear your instructor while another class is going on in the same room. This is the case in some training facilities. Your class will be the only one being taught in the room where your training is taking place.
Class Size
Classes are kept to a reasonable size to assure individual attention when needed.

Canine Obedience Instructors
Marianne Roberson
Marianne have taught canine obedience classes for 20 years and has successfully competed in akc trials. She is available for individual consulting when needed. After you and your dog have acquired good obedience skills, she can help you with canine good citizen testing (approved by the american kennel club) and therapy dog training.
Assistant Instructors
Assistant instructors work with the lead instructor to assure that you receive the help you need so that you understand each exercise and how to teach the exercise to your puppy/dog before you go home. You are always welcome to call your instructor if you have any problems or difficulties between classes.
Fees
All classes are 8 weeks long for a total fee of $100. Payment is by check or cash the first night of class.
Puppy (2-9 Months)

Beginner-B (Completed Puppy or Had Previous Training)

8 weeks: 8-9:00 p.m.
Beginner-A (Dogs over a year old with no previous training)

Canine obedience uses a kind, gentle method of training combining praise and treatsand no, you will not need to use treats forever.
Communicating with Your Dog
Communication between you and your dog is the most important factor in training. Before you can train your dog, you need to understand how your dog thinks and how to communicate what you want your dog to do. Canine obedience will teach you the skills to accomplish this. Once your dog understands what you want, you are on your way to successful training and a wellbehaved, happy dog that you will be delighted to have in your home.
Correcting Unwanted Behavior
In addition to obedience training, you need to understand how to correct unwanted behaviors; i.e., Chewing, digging, mouthing, barking, etc. At canine obedience we will assist you in redirecting these unwanted behaviors. These activities are instinctive to your dog, but are problems to humans.
Instructors Ongoing Education
To ensure that you receive the finest, most up-to-date training possible, canine obedience instructors regularly attend seminars/workshops presented by nationally renowned dog obedience professionals. Other seminar topics include dog aggression, nutrition and first aid for dogs.
