Learn & Play 3 on 3 Spring League
Join us at Accelerate Basketball Training for our Learn and Play program for boys and girls ages 5-8. This program focuses on comprehensive skill development from shooting, ball handling, passing, footwork, game situations and conditioning, as well as offensive and defensive concepts. The program is held Thursdays 6:00-7:00pm at Marvin AME Zion Church, 1525 Crane Rd. Waxhaw, NC 28173.
Drills for Skills
Accelerate's 'Drills for Skills' is our beginner program for 8-12 year old boys and girls that focuses on teaching footwork, speed & agility, moves to the basket and ball handling, in a fun challenging environment. Modeled after our varsity premier program, Drills for Skills is a program used to help develop athletes further along in our Accelerate Training Program! Get your young ball player ready for their first big game with our Drills for Skills Program. Highlights of the program include: focus on footwork, ball handling and moves to the basket. Players will continue working on proper layup techniques and court awareness, while building confidence to become a better scorer and ball handler. Drills for Skills introduces speed & agility workouts as well as conditioning This program is held Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00-7:00pm, at the Accelerate Basketball Training Facility.
Shooting Fundamentals
Accelerate's 'Shooting Fundamentals and Ball-Handling' is our beginner program for 8-12 year old boys and girls that focuses teaching proper shooting and dribbling techniques in a fun and challenging environment. Modeled after our middle school and varsity shooting programs, Shooting Fundamentals introduces our shooting and dribbling concepts to youngsters in a way they understand and , more importantly, use the tools they've been taught. Get your young ball player ready for their first big game with our Shooting Fundamentals Program! Program highlights include: shot footwork, proper shot ready mechanics, balance and dynamic stability, ball placement, and transition shooting. Players will have access to our pure shots, heavy balls and shooting forks while learning the proper mechanics and fundamentals of shooting. Players will continue to build confidence to become a better shooter & ball handler This program takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00-2:00pm at the Accelerate Basketball Training Facility.
Train, Practice, & Play
This program is for our athletes who love to play but also need to learn more about the game. We will create situations in the half-court as well as the full-court for our athletes to play and learn out of. These situations will generate teaching points for us to immediately help and improve our athlete's gameplay. Program highlights will include: establishing situations for each athlete to learn from which will help build their confidence, improve on using individual skills in game situations, and continue to expand their understanding of team basketball. Players will learn more about individual spacing in conjunction with team spacing to generate better offensive opportunities. These drills will improve on man to man, help, and transition defense. This program will progress each week as each athlete is expected to do with their coach and school program. Train & Play programs take place on Sundays from 4:30-5:45pm at Providence Day School (Ridenhour Gym) located at 5800 Sardis Rd. Charlotte, NC 28270
Shooting and VertiMax
The game is quicker, faster, and more physical than eve before - making it harder for players to gain and maintain and advantage over their competition. Sound fundamentals and advanced knowledge of the game is the key to gaining an edge and taking your game to the next level. This program combines aspects of our Shooting & Ball-Handling program with additional focus improving your leaping ability through use of the Vertimax Vertical Jump Training System. Highlights of this program include: combination of shooting and ball-handling drills, with additional emphasis on improving vertical leaping ability. Players will focus on shot footwork, proper shot ready mechanics, balance and dynamic stability, ball placement and transition shooting. This program stresses importance of consistency and detail, and provides a framework for maintaining shooting consistency throughout the season. Players will build leg strength and power for increased vertical performance through integration of the Vertimax training system, while improving first step speed and overall quickness - enabling players to more effectively attack the basket and finish stronger. This program takes place on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:00-2:00pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00-3:00pm. All Shooting and Vertimax programs are held at the Accelerate Basketball Training Facility.
Scoring Moves 101 Spring Clinic
A four day in-depth look on how to properly position yourself to score the basketball. We will cover Accelerate's "Jab-Series," we will cover how to create space and how to utilize the space created; we will cover how a player should react to the second tier of defense after beating their man. This clinic will take place on Saturdays, with middle school players from 11:00am-12:00pm, and high school players from 12:00-1:00pm at the Accelerate Basketball Training Facility.

Varsity Premier Program 7th-9th Grade
This post-season training program highlights include: developing each players performance capacity with high energy and high volume workouts. Workouts utilize many of the same strength and conditioning tools as NBA players we train at Accelerate, including: battle ropes, heavy balls, TRX suspension training tool to develop strength, balance, flexibility and core stability, shooting gun, and the Vertimax system. Players will be challenged through a variation of stationary and transition ball handling drills. Varsity Premier takes place on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:00-6:00pm and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00am-12:00pm at the Accelerate Basketball Training Facility.
Collegiate Premier 10th-12th Grade
This post-season training program highlights include: developing each players performance capacity with high energy and high volume workouts. Each workout utilizes many of the same strength and conditioning tools as NBA players we train at Accelerate; including: battle ropes, heavy balls, the TRX suspension training tools to develop strength, balance, flexibility and core stability, shooting gun, and the Vertimax training system. Players will be challenged through a variation of stationary and transition ball handling drills that will increase upper, lower, and core strength with and emphasis on injury prevention. College premier takes place Monday through Thursday from 12:00-1:00pm at the Accelerate Basketball Training Facility.
Shooting and VertiMax
3 High Intensity Workouts In 1! Accelerate Basketball presents their High Intensity VertiMax, High Volume Shooting and Ball Handling Series. These workouts will give our athletes a full workout from 3 different areas.
VertiMax Training
Players will work in groups of 4-6 off of the VertiMax units. The VertiMax will help our athletes with their vertical jump performance as well as their explosive speed development. The VertiMax is the most advance sports performance training system designed to assist athletes with athletic performance!
High Volume Shooting
Players will work on shot footwork, proper shot ready mechanics, the importance of balance and dynamic stability, ball placement and consistency, game situation drills off of the Shooting Machine, transition shooting, and much more. Players will be put through some of the same shooting exercises we put our NBA players through.
Ball Handling
Players will be challenged by intense Ball Handling. This will include a variation of moves in transition, hand eye coordination and neural activation drills as well two ball drills. Accelerate Basketball will overload their athletes through mental stimulation as well as high repetitions at game speed.

Since we have started working with college and NBA players we have gotten great feedback from players and their agents.
We know that making the transition from collegiate athletics to the professional ranks is one of the most important times in an athlete's life.
This is why we have studied the NBA Combine
met with various NBA teams and scouts to develop one of the best basketball training companies in the country. We have modeled out equipment base to mirror that of an NBA strength room. The technology we use to train our athletes mental capacity is of some of the top facilities in the world. We have been fortunate to work closely with current and retired NBA players to model our style of training around what players expect to see at the professional level.
Preparing for the Combine is a crucial step for future pros and there isn't a lot of time to do it right.

Accelerate Basketball's: Tryout Training
Accelerate Basketball brings you a series of workouts that will focus on shooting, ball handling, basketball IQ, moves to the basket, basketball conditioning, as well as 3 on 3, 5 on 5 and transition work! Our goal is to provide our athletes with as many chances to prepare for basketball try-outs in the winter. We feel these workouts will do just that. Accelerate Basketball Training evolved from Coach Payne's concept to blend basketball skills with strength, speed, and agility work. In addition, we place a heavy emphasis on injury prevention through our training. The facility is designed to cover all aspects of basketball, including basketball I.Q., teaching game situations, viewing and evaluating game film to help the athlete improve their game. Accelerate is constantly evolving and looking for new ways to help athletes of all ages, race and gender to take their game to another level. Accelerate Basketball officially began in August 2009 under Brandon Payne in the Charlotte, NC area.
