Hidden among the rolling hills in the Golden Corner of Oconee County, Weinacker's Restaurant is pleased to be a part of Lake Hartwell and its visage. Lake Hartwell lies between the hills of the upper Piedmont Plateau and the lower foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The Tugaloo and Seneca Rivers join to create the Savannah River, seven miles above the lake. The dam, completed in 1961, forms the lake and covers 55,950 acres and has a 962 mile shoreline. This makes Lake Hartwell one of the largest lakes in the southeast.
