Catering
Since 1947 we have catered picnics and dinners. We can cater for any party from 65 to 3,000 people. We prepare and serve sandwiches plates as well as complete pit barbecued dinners. Parties of 100 or more are delivered and served with no additional charge! For all parties fewer than one hundred people, there is a $75 catering fee. Drinks and desserts are available but are not included in the prices above. Drink and dessert prices vary depending on what type of drink or dessert you would like

About Us
It was opened by Joe & Lila Browning and Ed & Mella Jenson. Lila and Mella were sisters. Joe Browning arrived in San Diego during World War II as a member of the U.S. Navy where he fell in love with and married Lila Coates. Joe came from Texas where he learned the barbecue business from his step-father, R.T. Shoemaker. R.T. owned several barbecue restaurants in the Dallas area called “Shoemaker’s Famous Barbecue”.
