The Pepper Steak Restaurant has been part of the Highland community for over 30 years. It first opened in the 1970’s, when it was known as Big John’s Burger Factory, complete with drive up service. In the 1980’s it was expanded in size, remodeled and renamed as The Pepper Steak Restaurant. Prior to the development of East Highland Avenue and the 330 Freeway. The Pepper Steak Restaurant was the “last stop” for hungry skiers and even a few famous celebrities for a good home cooked meal before heading up to the San Bernardino mountains. Today, The Pepper Steak Restaurant remains a favorite of Highland locals for its comfortable atmosphere and delicious home cooking.
