Since Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink first opened in the Miami Design District in spring of 2007, diners have come to embrace and crave its refreshing combination of laid-back atmosphere and seriously good food, a neighborhood bistro that is the ultimate showcase for the type of cuisine that chef/owner Michael Schwartz does best – homemade, unpretentious, delectable, with an emphasis on great local ingredients. Our main dining room and courtyard seat 100, and The Gallery private dining room, an additional 30, with 14 more seats at a welcoming bar where guests can enjoy happy hour with our specialty cocktails, diverse craft beer list, and snacks like deviled eggs and crispy hominy with chile and lime. Our menu is further divided into small, medium, large, extra large, sides, and cheese of the week, where we focus on one cheese at a time with a seasonal, housemade accompaniment like local mango chutney. Specialties from the wood oven include whole roasted dayboat fish and Poulet Rouge chickens. Sunday Brunch is where our small plates shine on a weekly-changing menu of savory and sweet including everything from breakfast pizza topped with a local farm egg and house smoked bacon to executive pastry chef Hedy Goldsmith’s playfully decadent childhood treats and lemon ricotta pancakes — it’s the perfect way to spend the last day of the weekend soaking up the Miami sun, alfresco-style.
