Proving that history can come full circle, seasoned restaurateurs Claudio Gottardo and Gianni Romagnolo de Laurentiis come together again to reopen Mappamondo, a West Village favorite of the 90's. Returning to 11 Abingdon Square, Italian born owner Claudio Gottardo, originally a chef from Lake Como who came to the US in 1985, and worked as an executive chef in several Manhattan restaurants including Mezzaluna, Café Society, Paper Moon and Barolo, eventually opened Mappamondo in 1992 followed by Mappamondo Due.
