The food in Le Canard Enchaine is top notch, both in presentation and taste. We are from NYC, and this restaurant is better than Jean-Georges Vongerichten's Mercer Kitchen (were we ate two days latter). Some of our company were vegetarians, and they were well pleased. The rich creamy butternut squash soup was just the right balance, not too liquidy and not too heavy. The vegetable napoleon, which was layers of veggies, such as egglant, was devine. For the entrees we had two pasta dishes and the roast chicken. The chicken was perhaps the best I've ever eaten, just melting off the bone. The pasta dishes are not served on the weekend, but the hostess was willing to make an exception for us, though we'd never seen her before. Both dishes were excellently prepared with exception sauces. The creme brulle was also quite good, and came in a large portion.
