Khalil's has been Pittsburgh's leading Middle Eastern and Mediterranean restaurant since 1972. Ranked in the top 20 of all city restaurants in an independent study, Khalil's II is a "must" stop for anyone visiting Pittsburgh who wants to experience the finer things the city has to offer. For local residents, Khalil's II presents a unique opportunity to "travel" to the Middle East: a full immersion into the sights, sounds, and tastes of Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Israel, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the Gulf States. And, for those who want to put a touch of romance into their evening, let's just say that stepping into Khalil's II is like walking into the pages of A Thousand and One Nights.
The architecture and decor of our restaurant reproduce authentic scenes and the feel of a fine Middle Eastern mansion: ceramic tile, ornate chandeliers, tapestries, authentic arabic artifacts, and photographs and artwork depicting historic and legendary places and events. It is not unusual to hear Syrian, Lebanese, Egyptian, and Libyan dialects spoken in our restaurant. Many of our employees and wait staff have Middle Eastern backgrounds, and we enjoy Arabic and Greek music. And it's not unusual for family members or members of our staff to break into song or dance, especially if it helps make your celebration more fun and festive.
