Buti Yoga
a movement practice that fuses power yoga, tribal dance and plyometrics into a high-intensity workout that transforms the body from the inside out. We train the core using the Spiral Structure technique created by Founder Bizzie Gold that transforms the way the body looks and performs almost instantly. Many students say they notice a change in their abdominal structure even during their first class.
Community Vipassana Meditation
A donation based meditation session offering an opportunity to experience meditation sharing the energy of the community. No experience necessary. No yoga or movement in this class but several styles of meditation are shared. The session could include a walking meditation, a short gong session and a reading is shared. A silent meditation sit can be done in either a chair or on the floor, supported by blankets or bolsters. Each month a different local charity is chosen to receive the donations collected. Joyful donates the space and time, no money is kept by the studio.

Your psoas should be a primary concern for EVERY BODY, whether a champion athlete or unable to move due to chronic back pain. Achieve new possibilities as your body re-learns to let go! Based on the TRE or Trauma Release Exercises developed by David Berceli, PhD, this class helps you to retrain your body to energetically release the little and big traumas of life held in our muscles. Embrace Your Power Yoga
Power yoga is a vigorous, fitness-based approach to vinyasa-style yoga. Consider it to be a cardio workout. Power yoga does not follow a set series of poses, so classes can vary widely. With its emphasis on strength and flexibility, power yoga is a great way to increase heart rate and stamina!
Joyful Flow & Meditation
A gentle flow linking breath and movement to awaken the body to prepare for a guided meditation. No experience necessary! Leave refreshed and renewed! All levels, suitable for prenatal.

Heal the body, renew the mind and refresh your outlook on life! Open to all fitness levels.
Sunday Stretch & Flow Yoga
Designed exclusively for Sunday mornings! Practice begins with warming stretches in preparation for a series of flowing standing poses that will soothe the soul! Your body and mind will feel open and balanced! Students of all levels welcome, although some previous yoga experience is recommended.
Vinyasa
The term "Vinyasa" refers to a series of postures, often timed with the breath. Energize your body as you flow from pose to pose, linking the movement with the breath. These classes are used to build endurance, stamina, strength, and flexibility, while calming the mind. Level 1-2.
Weekend Warrior Yoga
Practice begins with warming stretches in preparation for a series of strong standing poses, vinyasa style! May include inversions and/or arm balances which are taught from the foundation up, giving students the opportunity to work at their own level. Students of all levels welcome, previous yoga experience is recommended.
Yin Yoga: Afternoon Yin Delight & Candlelight Yin
Provides the perfect balance to your active (yang) yoga practice, any other type of exercise & your busy life. Focuses on long-held floor poses & goes beneath superficial muscles to target dense connective tissues of the body which are difficult to open & can result in both limited flexibility & stagnant energy. Practice is gentle, yet intense, helping to not only open the body, but also to cultivate the ability to observe and stay with sensation. Appropriate for all levels!
Yoga Fusion
Yoga meets light weights! Using 1 or 2 pound weights, this focuses on building core strength while challenging your balance with a combination of standing poses. Add upper body strength moves to sculpt your arms and you'll create core strength and balance like never before! Practice with light hand weights or none at all! Level 1-2.
Healing Bodies, Healing Minds Yoga Nidra
An ancient practice of meditation that can lead to inner freedom. The class begins with 30 minutes of gentle yoga and then moves into the relaxation phase. It employs several practices which work at the physical, energetic, mental & emotional levels, allowing us to reconnect with our deepest self. These practices help to harmonize the two hemispheres of the brain and the two aspects of the autonomic nervous system (sympathetic and parasympathetic). Yoga Nidra is a life-changing approach to complete relaxation. For true relaxation you must remain aware. Yoga Nidra can be described as deep sleep with a trace of awareness, a state of being that allows you to reach beneath surface tensions and awaken your potential for greatness through the medium of sankalpa. A sankalpa is a resolution created by you, a positive statement in the present tense designed to align you with your destiny, to accelerate this process.
Mix up your workout with these classes!
Barre
Barre workouts push your body to its limits through small, repetitious movements and isometric holds that target specific muscle groups, followed by stretching. Anita Sykes, RYT200
Reiki Master Practitioner, Thai Massage/Bodyworker, AromaTouch Massage, doTerra Wellness Advocate. "Step into life and have fun. It's the journey, not the destination that matters." Looking for an alternative form of exercise with less impact, she found yoga in 2001. She had an "AhHA" moment with consistent practice. She noticed positive changes for her overall well-being. She firmly believes yoga is a "fix" for anything that ails you. "Yoga guided me thru two pregnancies and prepared me for "mommy-hood", helped me recover from knee surgery and a low back injury." "I'm passionate about teaching how-to incorporate self-healing methods into your life, with nurturing patience and compassion. We have to learn how to practice kindness, "metta", towards ourselves before we can begin to effectively take care of others and learn to take baby steps on our journey of growth and healing". On her own path she embraced bodywork, energy therapies and therapeutic essential oils as absolute compliments to her teaching and her own practice as well as a tool to maintaining overall health and wellness. She is certified as a Master Reiki Practitioner, Thai Yoga Massage Bodyworker, AromaTouch therapy and a doTerra Wellness Advocate She empowers her students to have fun and to "dive-in" on a self-exploratory practice whether on or off the mat. "Life is the practice of yoga.".
Charla Lewis, E-RYT200, RYT500 Yoga Therapy
Hatha Gong Master, Reiki Master Practitioner, International Ballet Barre Fitness Association Certified. Charla started practicing yoga in 2000 and was hooked immediately! Her daughters noticed how it affected her and would say "Mom, go to yoga!" Upon the realization that it was transformational not only physically but mentally, she embraced it even more. Upon moving to Phoenix and having the time, she was now intent on following her dream to share her love of yoga. Having previously been an elementary school teacher, she wanted to pursue teacher training to combine these two passions and began her teaching journey at Inner Vision Yoga in September of 2011, finishing the 200 hour program in January of 2012. She immediately enrolled in a Master Program of Healing Emphasis Yoga, finishing in December, 2013. Her yoga philosophy is the breath, posture, and patience. She loves to learn and to impart that knowledge to her students, emphasizing those principles. She is currently studying Ayurveda to compliment her healing emphasis. She specializes in TRE or Trauma Release Exercises developed by David Berceli, PhD, as well as postural work using the Egoscue Method. She incorporates the gong and crystal bowls into her yoga classes for a vibrational healing experience and can do one-on-one vibrational healing sessions! She is also a Reiki Master and sends love and healing in all of her classes. Charla studied ballet from age 5 to 20 and has loved returning to the Barre! She has found it to be a wonderful compliment to yoga and loves teaching Barre! She spends her summers in Wildwood, NJ helping her parents manage their seasonal business at the Jersey Shore and teaching Yoga on the Beach!
Maria Coca, RYT200
Maria used to think yoga was for the flexible, vegetarian, yuppies. Clearly not for her! Until one day she decided to take a class. Little did she know, on that day, she would fall head-over-heels for yoga! Soon after, Maria enrolled in the 200 hour Teacher Training program at Inner Vision. Her yoga journey had begun…in a short time her mind expanded, her body healed, and her soul thrived as it had not ever before. She took to yoga as she does everything else…with PASSION! "Do everything with passion, or not at all; wherever you go, go with all your heart" NAMASTE!

Our Wonderful Teachers
Joyful Yoga is abundantly grateful to have attracted an amazing variety of teachers that each bring their style, yogic traditions, and approach to connecting with each student. You can expect professional, knowledgeable, nurturing teachers in all of our classes. Regardless of our teachers background and influences we all share the same motto; come as you are with your body as-is, there is no "too inflexible", "too out of shape", "too big", "too small" "too uncoordinated"…you get the point. Our teachers are here to help you connect you with your goals and help you morph into the person you are meant to be. Please take some time to see what our teachers have to offer, or better yet, get to their classes to meet them in person! A big shout out and thanks to Carrie Ragsdale for all of our amazing head shots.
Ana Rinderer, RYT200
Ana is a Registered Yoga Alliance Teacher. She has been teaching since 2003 and practicing for over 15 years. Ana's love for yoga, the benefits of the asana (poses) and pranayama (breath), motivated her earn her 200 hr teacher certification. She continues to study every opportunity that she has, by attending yoga conferences and yoga workshops. Her annual Costa Rica yoga retreat is her favorite time where her students can practice surrounded by the natural beauty this magnificent country has to offer. Ana was born and raised in Costa Rica where she studied at the Costa Rica university (UCR) then continue her studies in New York university (NYU).
Carolina Daley, RYT500
Carolina walked into a yoga class with the intention of stretching a hurt lower back, and left with her spirit soaring, feeling like she was floating on air. That was the start of an ongoing and ever deepening journey, inward and outward. Yoga has brought her so many beautiful friendships and opened so many doors that she has become grateful for the injury that led her to take that first step into class. Somebody once said, "Follow your bliss," and that is what she has done. That first class led her to the 200 hour Teacher Training at Inner Vision Yoga, and then on to their 500 hour Master certification. She is still following her bliss, and the more she learns about Yoga, the more joy and wonder comes into her life. When she teaches, her hope is that this joy will flow into her students so they too can float out of class.
Ann Townsend-Zhu RYT 200
Yoga has always been part of Ann's life. Ann did yoga alongside her mother as a small child and just assumed everyone else knew how awesome yoga was! Becoming a yoga teacher was always a life goal and an easy choice given that her "day job" is being an Art Teacher. Ann loves practicing all styles of yoga and appreciates all of the unique ways each style can enhance the lives of the practitioners. Ann was trained directly under Bizzie Gold, celebrity fitness instructor and creator of Buti yoga.
Cindy Rogers & Piper, RYT200
Yoga found Cindy in 2005 quite by accident. She thought yoga was practiced by "pretzel peace people" and this was certainly NOT for her! Throughout her first month of yoga she realized that the practice of yoga for her was life changing. In 2009 she received her 200Hr RYT and has been teaching since her certification. Her life's journey had been filled with challenges and nearly insurmountable obstacles. Cindy battled the demons of addiction: anorexia, alcoholism, & drugs. Fortunately & proudly she has been in "post recovery" for several years and she credits her yoga practice as one of her most miraculous saving graces. "For the first time in my life I feel comfortable inside of my own body" Cindy will tell you as she shares with you her passion for yoga and for life. Her class, Four Senses Yoga, is a unique experience for those who come to practice. Everyone who attends is blindfolded except for Cindy & her assistant. This is because she is blind & her Seeing Eye dog, Piper, is always by her side. Piper & I are thrilled to be a part of the Joyful Yoga family! I am humbled & honored to become a part of your Yoga journey. I am amazed and awed by each person's courage to explore and enrich the path of life through Yoga. I am more certain with each class that Yoga and Four Senses Yoga are a pathway to explore a deeper understanding and awareness of what lies within one's heart & soul. Peace & Namaste.
Jennie Yingling, RYT500 and Certified Mat Pilates, TRX and Barre Instructor
Jennie has been practicing yoga for the last 20 years and teaching it for the past 10. Her strong love of yoga helped motivate her to complete her 200 hour yoga teacher certification in 2004 in San Diego, and then finish with her 300 hour certification in 2008, through Inner Vision Yoga in Chandler, AZ. Jennie holds multiple certifications. Shortly after completing her yoga certification she enrolled in a Pilates workshop and obtained her certification in Pilates. Yoga and Pilates are the perfect compliment to each other. With her Pilates practice she noticed a significant improvement in her core strength which in turn promoted a healthy stronger back. She believes the two forms of exercise provide the perfect balance to a happier, healthier body and mind. She has studied a wide variety of yoga and taken workshops from many well known Master yoga teachers from all over the world. Taking what she has learned from these teachers, along with her own experiences & a dance background, she incorporates a mixture of styles & flow into her teaching. Teaching all levels and all varieties of yoga, some of which include gentle/restorative yoga, yin yoga, vinyasa "flow" yoga, Ashtanga yoga, and kid's yoga, Jennie's classes emphasize building strength, concentration, grace and finding that connection of body, breath and mind. She feels yoga is not just a form of exercise, but a way of life. She is also certified in pre-natal, post-natal yoga.
Sara Chesterfield, ERYT200, RYT500

Sharing her passion for yoga is one of her life's greatest joys. Previously she operated her own yoga studio in Columbus, GA, and has taught English at Columbia College and Arizona State University.
Tracy Buresh, RYT200, Certified TRX and Barre Instructor
Tracy has always been in activities ranging from dance to tae kwon do, but did not find her true calling until discovering yoga. This realization ignited Tracy's passion and propelled her forward to pursue getting certified, not only to deepen her own practice, but to share this experience with others. Tracy now holds a 200 hour certification and is a registered member of Yoga Alliance. She loves teaching classes that cultivate strength with stretch in a Hatha style flow, but is also a firm believer that restorative classes help to add balance to today's hectic, stress-filled, technology heavy world. She has since delved further into the fitness industry and now teaches Barre Fitness, TRX Suspension Training and Pilates as well. Taylor Paskell, Mat Pilates
Taylor played collegiate golf at Illinois Wesleyan and took up Pilates in 2005 to help with her golf game and reduce back pain. Graduating from Washington University in St. Louis with a master's degree in Occupational Therapy, Taylor finds that Pilates is a great way to build on OT principles and develop a healthy body from the inside out. She also believes that while each Pilates class is unique, they all strive to enhance body awareness, increase mental focus, improve posture, and develop long lean muscles to assist in athletic activities and improve quality of life for people of all abilities. Taylor received her Pilates mat training from Rene A. Brackney in 2011 and enjoys teaching Pilates in addition to her full-time job as an Occupational Therapist in the Valley.

Testimonials
I attended the Zumba Gold (Low Impact) class this past Tuesday and LOVED it!
The instructor was delightful and the class was so much fun!
I have sung your praises to many of my friends this week and look forward to seeing you all next week. Not only was the class a welcoming place to be, but the environment at your studio as a whole was so pleasant-it made me feel right at home.
Please let Katherine know how much I enjoy her class and what huge improvement I've seen
I couldn't do a couple push ups when I started. Between my healthier diet, Yoga, and Indoor Fit Camp, since last year, I am down 48 lbs and gone from size 14/16 to my most recent jeans - size 6! I feel strong and beautiful. Yippee!
This place is GREAT!
The classes are priced very fairly, and there is a great special for unlimited classes. They have also added punch cards, so you can pre-pay $95 for 10 classes. All the teachers I have had are great! They pay attention and are a wealth of knowledge.
What an amazing surprise to find out that the best Yoga
Pilates, and Zumba studio is just a few blocks from my house. BIG thanks to Joyful Yoga Studio, a place that truly promotes healthy fitness. Instructors are FAB for all levels. I appreciate the variety of classes & the convenient times. I am so happy!
I have always wanted to try yoga.
I was confused about the different options. I thought I might be too old! It is so wonderful to discover your studio, and quite close to home, with super convenient class times for my New to Yoga and Gentle Yoga classes. They are not only great for beginners but can be as advanced as you care to make them and give you a sense of the philosophy that has been behind yoga for centuries. I feel like, combined with my walking, I am getting a lot of health benefits. I wish you great success.
This was the best day of my life
mom! (A beautiful 9-year-old young lady, on the first day of Joyful Yoga's Spring Break Camp: Yoga, Drama, Zumba)
This studio feels "joyful."
Staff members are welcoming. The teachers are enthusiastic about their class.
After I bought an unlimited class pass
I have been 'turned onto' Zumba and incorporate it into my daily exercise regimen along with yoga and pilates. The instructors for all the classes are wonderful and student friendly. After a hard day at work, I look forward to going to class, because I know I will feel more energized afterwards.
I started taking classes at Joyful Yoga the first week it opened in January 2009.
I had been looking for a place like this for years. It has a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel you belong right away. I love the variety of classes offered. I've tried several of them and have found them all appealing and challenging. This is the first time in my 48 years that I'm excited to work out. I actually look forward to it and plan my week around the classes I want to attend. I have met some wonderful new people and feel a part of the community. Don't let this opportunity pass you by.
I find that for me, I need a wide variety of different exercise options to choose from, and that makes me more successful.
I also notice that keeping track on a calendar makes me more committed to doing things. When I get the monthly schedule from Joyful Yoga Studio, I take the calendar down off the wall, and write in what days I am going to do what classes or activities to do something every day. It serves 3 purposes. It is kind of a visualization of the whole month and what accomplishments I can make, it is "scheduled" so that other things do not roll over into that time, and at the end of the month I can see what I have accomplished vs. my goals. Yes, I realize I am a lot more organized that a lot of people, I just do what works for me.
Thanks again for starting such a great studio.
I really enjoy going each day; you always make everyone feel like family.
I love what we are doing to get stronger in the "Fitness Intensive" and "Yoga
Pilates, Toning" classes. I feel more vibrant. I adore our instructor! You have created a beautiful, inviting welcoming space. You give so freely and openly to everyone who walks through the door. Thank you for what you are doing and who you are. You are such a gift. Thanks for believing in all of us!
I was nervous about returning to yoga after surgical treatment for breast cancer
but the knowledgeable and compassionate teachers at Joyful Yoga Studio gave me the tools and encouragement I needed to develop a yoga practice that has helped me heal and regain my strength. I look forward to every class!
