Hot's Cantina originally opened at it's current Northridge location as "Hot's Tacos". The name "Hot's Tacos" come from a nickname the chef/owner (Sean Chaney) had during his earlier years. His friends called him "Hot's Sauce" (no one really remembers how it came about, but legend has it that the name came from a song). Eventually, the nickname was shortened to "Hot". When "Hot" became a personal chef and started catering, his tacos were a huge crowd-pleaser - everyone raved about them. These fresh & tasty tacos with unique flavors came to be known as "Hot's Tacos".
