Greekfest is our Taverna. We call it Greekfest to represent a "Greek Festival" or "panigyri - a modern version of the ancient "Panathinea" and "Dionysian" festivals. In the square of the village, under the enormous plane trees, near the fountain spring, men and women from all over the island come to eat, drink and be merry; to look at the wares of the potters and the coppersmiths - the wares that you see displayed on the white stucco walls of our Greekfest. There you see colorful handmade knitware and traditional dresses, and beautifully carved chairs - such have inspired the motif of the Greekfest interior. The tables are set, the waiters are serving a variety of "mezethes," the wine is poured and laughter and clinking glasses are heard toasting the future with words "Eis hygeian" - to your health. Your visit to Greekfest will transport you back to Greece. At Greekfest, the ambiance, the decor, and most especially, the cuisine, represent all that help to define the Hellenic experience as memorable and valuable.
