Choice of one meat, bell peppers, onions, mushrooms & black olives
Doyle's humble beginning began when Leo Doyle and sister Cloe Doyle opened a delicastessen selling meats and cheeses. It was only after a customer asked for one rye role and a 1/4lb of sliced roast beef which made a sandwich …did the Doyles get the idea to start their own restaurant.
Doyle's very 1st location was on Ella Boulevard at 43rd Street. Within two years it had outgrown this location and moved to its present location. In true "Texas" style its building had previously housed a bar then an evangelical revival center. There were horses just down the street and cattle were grazing just four blocks away.
As Houston continued to grow and change so did Doyle's. We were one of the first restaurants to serve Pizza on a daily basis. Doyle's remains a family tradition 50 years later and thanks its loyal customers from which we owe our success. We invite you to view our menu and visit our Family style restaurant and try our most popular dish…spaghetti and meatballs.
