Cardio Tennis / Trx Class
Wednesdays & Fridays: 6:30-7:30am / Monday & Wednesdays: 10:30-11:30am. $25 members, $30 non-members, $200 for 10 class package
Class Details
Cardio/TRX Tennis is a cardio based tennis clinic with a TRX (Total body Resistance exercise) component. With a 6:1 student to pro ratio, you'll begin the class with a tennis drill warm up, followed by TRX conditioning and ending with point play. This is a fun group activity for tennis players of all levels, or for general fitness enthusiasts looking for a new way to train! If you want to wake up, sweat a lot, hit lots of tennis balls, have a calorie burning aerobic workout, meet some nice tennis friends and have a general upbeat fun time then Cardio Tennis/TRX is for you!
Class Benefits
A good tennis cardiovascular workout helps to strengthen your heart, burn calories and increase stamina over time. These things are good, but if you are looking to take it to the next level, then adding a TRX component to your cardiovascular routine is definately the wayto go. TRX or Total Body Resistance Exercise uses gravity and your own body weight as a means of building strength, balance and flexibility, allowing you to tone your muscles at pace that is perfectly designed for your body. At DVTA, the goal of Cardio/TRX is to create a counteraction between short high intensity movements with TRX suspension trainers, agility ladders, jump ropes and battle ropes and sustained cardio activity through tennis based activites such as drills and rallies. This increases fat burn, meaning you'll make huge strength gains without bulking up or loosing mobility.
Can I do Tennis Cardio/TRX if I don't play tennis?
Of Course! The best part about Cardio/TRX is that everyone can benefit from it, even if you do not have a tennis background. You will need to know how to hit a controlled ball back and forth across the net, but a couple of DVTA101 classes can help with that if you are unsure. Ultimately, this is a great oppertunity for anyone who wants to explore the world of tennis and get a intense workout at the same time, all without ever setting foot inside of a gym.
Can Tennis Cardio/TRX help me improve in tennis?
Yes. TRX Suspension Trainers increase shoulder mobility, helping to support and strengthen the muscle groups that are most important to tennis players such as the upper back muscles, the rear deltoids, the transversus abdominis, and the glute muscles. TRX training uses body weight for resistance, so a simple shift in positon can modify any exercise. This decreases the chance of overexertion and percisely targets weaker muscle groups throughout the course of the workout.
Group Classes / Clinics
Class Details
DVTA group classes begin with a warm-up, followed by the introduction of a general class focus. This focus is then re-inforced throughout the course of the class through drills, live points, and pointplay.
Class Benefits
At DVTA all of our classes are aimed at building a strong technical basis to support your game. By setting a focus for each class, DVTA pro's are able to assist players in strengthening the basic movements that make up overall oncourt performance.
What if I have never played tennis before or I have not played in a long time?
If you are a novice tennis player, or if you have taken a extended break from the game, the DVTA 101/102 class is a good place to start. This class is held on two courts, one introductory DVTA 101 court, and a DVTA 102 court for students who are more familiar with the sport. During clinic, players review tennis basics, including tennis terms, proper technique, and stradegy. Class drills focus on consistency and rhythm which is perfect for players who would like to get back into the swing of things. At the end of the class, DVTA pro's are available to make level recommendations, and direct you towards other DVTA clinics that would be a good fit for your level.
Can anyone participate in team practices?
Yes, as long as there is space. Team practices are open to the public, but be prepared to be challenged by our team members. Team practices highlight doubles stratedgy in competetive situations, so if you are a del-tri sub, a member of a doubles team, or have a passion for competeting, then DVTA team practices are for you.
Ladder Race / Matchplay
Match Details
DVTA (1) hour and (1.5) hour matches are organized according to level. Pro's are available to participate in matches in the event that there is an odd number of players. At the end of each event, DVTA Coaches will record your final scores and enter them into the DVTA TenCap database.
Macth Benefits
DVTA matches are a great way to meet people, and improve your game of tennis through playing sets. Because your scores are entered into TenCap at the end of each event, you will also be able to view your match history, and track your progress against other players in this area.

Del-Tri Winter League
Tournaments
Each division consists of (6) doubles teams who compete together during the course of the season beginning in the beginning of October and ending in Mid-March. Competitions are held on Fridays at various clubs througout the Del-Tri area, and match schedules are set in the beginning of the season. At each home match, DVTA pro's are present to provide a overall analysis of each teams performance.
Team Practices
Team practices give Del-Tri teams the chance to practice together in preparation for team tournamnets. While the practices are open to the public, they are primarily built to strengthen our Del-Tri Teams. DVTA coaches are present to offer doubles stradegy advice for each team.
What if I want to become a sub?
The best way to get your name on a team sub list to come out to a team practice and play in with team members. Please check the General Adult Programs Page for the most updated DVTA schedule complete with practice times, rates, and levels. Contact David Blumeris: dvaid@dvta.com

DVTA Jr. Tennis Camp is a tennis camp for younger players who already show a special interest in the game of tennis. From beginners to intermediate players, the focus of the DVTA Jr. Tennis Camp is to develop a strong technical foundation in a fun and friendly environment. We recognize that character building is an important component of competitive sports and so in addition to typical tennis drills, rallies, and point play, we incorporate off court games, group challenges and leadership exercises in our daily routine, giving our future competitors the chance to emphasize good sportsmanship early on in training. Swimming, arts and crafts, and Friday game days also help to balance out the tennis focus here, making the Jr. Tennis Camp both effective and enjoyable for players of all levels.

Welcome to DVTA! DVTA is a year-round tennis academy located west of Philadelphia on the Main Line. Our mission is to offer the best options to our members and those who are not as committed to our Club and Academy. Our Academy brand is noted for developing a strong technical base with our students early in their tennis. Our Club, Bryn Mawr Racquet Club has 5-indoor courts, 2 Pickleball and 2-badmitton courts, a beautiful French country style lounge and locker rooms.
Within our junior program, we are currently working with and have worked with many nationally, sectionally, and non-ranked juniors who aspire to play on a team or compete in tournaments. DVTA has three programs designed for all levels of play: Elite "AT" (Advanced Training) is for tournament players; "AT" is for students playing middle school and high school tennis; the Junior Development Program "JDP" focuses on a "10 and Under" program that incorporates low compression balls and smaller courts to develop strokes and to inspire the love of the game within beginner and low intermediate players through successful point playing and competition.
Our Club has many exciting programs for all levels of Tennis, Pickleball and Badminton. Please check our our website for details: www.dvta.com
