In 2003, the Gulli family started Mr. Kabob Mediterranean Cuisine, in a modest space next to the family’s gas station in the suburbs of Detroit, with the hopes and dreams of delivering Fresh. Healthy. Delicious! fare to the surrounding area and beyond. A very popular carry-out restaurant, Mr. Kabob also delivers Fresh. Healthy. Delicious! fare through catering services. Customers call from as far as 30 miles away, and Mr. Kabob does not disappoint!
In 2004, Mr. Kabob received the prestigious honor of being voted “Best of Detroit” by the nationally acclaimed Detroit Free Press. As Mr. Kabob’s popularity grew, the Gulli family knew it was time to expand. A joint venture spawned the larger, fast casual-style Cafe Kabob Mediterranean Grille & Catering in February, 2008, just a few miles from the original location. In 2009, CK Franchising was introduced and became a Franchisor in the growing Fast-Casual market, specializing in Fresh. Healthy. Delicious! Mediterranean fare. Today Café Kabob can be found in Michigan and California, with additional franchise interests Nationwide!
