About Anne Vaughan
After her second child was born, Anne Vaughan wanted to start a small business that she could work while she stayed home.
When she mentioned making jewelry to her husband, he responded enthusiastically. “I didn’t really know how he would respond, but that is how it started”, Anne said.
Little did she know that a few years later, designing and creating jewelry would not only become her full time job, but her passion.
"I love every aspect of it", Anne smiles as she sets a piece of turquoise into a herringbone weave
a wirework technique that has become a signature of her designs. “Operating a small business is so challenging, but you learn so much. I am always searching out new techniques and methods that I can incorporate into my work, and our design lines are always changing.
Far from settling on one jewelry-making technique
Anne focuses her skills on using different techniques that result in great design - color combination, variety of quality gemstones and other materials, and size and scope of a piece. Handmade flower clusters, vintage and repurposed jewelry components, turquoise and gemstones, and multi-colored pearls are regularly founds throughout her work.
Anne Vaughan Designs has grown each year in operation, and to date has handmade almost 60,000 individual pieces of jewelry.
AVD employs four local women part-time in helping create the designs, as well as Anne’s husband, Aaron. Anne’s designs have repeatedly been featured in national publications and she has been the featured designer in Stringing Magazine. Her work is featured in dozens of art boutiques and shops nationally, and can be found at AnneVaughanDesigns.com and at various shows throughout the year.
Cindy Saadeh
Owner of the gallery, Cindy is also an oil painter who got her start as an apprentice to a self-taught French artist Richard Palomino, or Lilla Duva.
In Montpellier, France she was classically trained in making paint, mediums, brushes and painting in a layering style based on Old Master techniques.
She has found her voice in a more painterly style but still maintains the importance of learning classically as a good foundation.
Her work is featured in public and private collections in the US and internationally.
