Here at Caliu we focus on local ingredients at our traditional Spanish tapas restaurant. The owners are Chef Franco Barrio and Cynthia Lau. The menu skews traditional, with tapas standbys like house made morcilla and all manner of cured meats and cheeses. Our 65-seat dining room modeled after a rustic Spanish taverna, with a small bar will give you a warm comfortable feel. At our restaurant we are going with a seasonal concept with market menu specials. One particular dish we focus on is our lobster stock based Paella. We are very neighborhood oriented and want people to come and try many dishes since we encourage sharing. Our open kitchen allows people to watch and see the chefs in action. We also have a table for two inside the kitchen for those who always wondered about the ups and downs of running a professional kitchen. We 100% buy local ingredients and support small family farms upstate New York by doing so. Please call us for reservations of 6 or more with the chef's menu.
