Yoga is about unification of body, mind and spirit using practices developed in India over 2,000 years ago. It brings the body to a state of relaxation suitable for meditation and can also tone the body, improve health and clarity of mind, and increase "presence," a heightened level of consciousness and self-awareness in the moment.The Yogashakti system of hatha yoga concentrates on alignment of the body and harmonizing movement with breath. We encourage you to work hard but to have fun at the same time. Our classes are suitable for all ages and levels of eperience. You don't have to be flexible or strong, just willing.Our instructors are sensitive to the needs of each person and adjust the exercises accordingly. Students get as much individual attention as they need and are encouraged to recognize their own limits, work within them and gently extend them. You leave not only feeling refreshed and relaxed but also knowing just a little more about yourself than when you came in.
