Celeste Tyson
Celeste Tyson, RD, CSCS, NCSA, CPT; B.S. Nutrition and Dietetics; Registered Dietitian, ADA; Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, NCSA; Certified Personal Trainer, NSAM.
My name is Celeste Tyson and I have been a Personal Trainer and Registered Dietitian at Xtreme Fitness
for almost two years and I have over 8 years experience in sports coaching, personal training, fitness and weight loss, and nutritional counseling.
I was born in February 27, 1985, and lived in a small town off the gulf coast of south Texas until I was 10 years old and my parents divorced.
Shortly after, my mother and I moved to the city of Austin, where I really found my passion for fitness and health.
My mother worked as a personal trainer and competed in bodybuilding shows.
I learned from her how to work hard and to stay dedicated at an early age. I started working out with and developed healthy nutrition habits from her at an early age. Throughout my teen years I achieved various academic honors and became the top track and cross-country runner in the entire state of Texas. My athletic achievements earned me a full athletic scholarship in track and cross-country to San Diego State University.
Over the next four years I competed in both track and cross-country while going to school full time, and worked part-time as a dietary aid for a renowned hospital in La Jolla, California.
Moreover, I achieved academic and athletic honors including, Scholar Athlete, Deans List of Academic Honors, MVP Cross-Country and Track, and nominated Team Captain for the cross-country and track teams.
After graduation
I attained my Strength and Conditioning Certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association and started working as a strength, agility, and running mechanics coach dealing with athletes from various sports.
I coached the Women's Cross-Country team at San Diego Community College and taught health classes to students.
I became the volunteer Strength and Agility Coach for San Diego State University Athletics Department. And I worked part-time as the Assistant Athletic Strength and Girl's Cross-Country/Track Coach at Bishops Private High School, in La Jolla, California.
In December 2008, I was accepted in the Hurley Medical Centers clinical dietetic internship program in Flint, Michigan.
I experienced all areas of dietetics throughout the duration of the program focusing heavily on the clinical aspects. After completion of the program, I successfully passed the National Registration in Dietetics exam, earning title of Registered Dietitian.
Since then, I've obtained additional certifications including:
Metabolic Specialist, by New Leaf Health and Fitness and Certified Personal Trainer by the National Academy of Sports Medicine. I myself am a Natural Figure Competitor, placing 1st and winning the overall at my very first show.
I work with individuals with different goals/needs ranging from athletes, weight loss, fitness, post brain injury rehab, and various other health concerns.
Regardless of your age or gender, if you are looking to lose weight, tone your muscles, optimize your current exercise program, or need a personalized meal plan, I can help you attain your health and fitness goals.
