Wintzell's Oyster House was founded as a six-stool oyster bar in 1938 in Mobile, Alabama. The original location on Dauphin Street today celebrates its 78th year as a dining landmark and is joined by nine additional locations reaching from the Gulf Coast to central and northern Alabama. While oysters—fried, stewed and nude—headline the iconic brand, Wintzell's menu includes signature seafood dishes, regional favorites and specialties native to Mobile. The walls of all Wintzell's restaurants are covered with thousands of the founder's homespun sayings, delivering an atmosphere that's casual, lively and unmistakably southern.
