Vital Pilates offers private and small group instruction in a personal, welcoming setting. Our instructors are comprehensively trained and provide encouragement and support as clients learn and grow towards improved body alignment, awareness, and quality of life. Pilates is the collective name for a set of exercises or techniques that condition the body to acquire greater flexibility, strength, greater endurance, and improved coordination without addition of bulk of muscle to the body. Also, Pilates increases circulation and shapes the body in a more balanced form. When executing mat-specific exercises, the body’s own weight is used as resistance. These exercises are a great place to start as they require no specialized equipment… simply space and a floor mat. Exercises performed on the Pilates apparatus use the resistance of springs to create resistance.
