Dr. Hutcheson earned his undergraduate degree from the College of William and Mary.
He received his medical education and completed his residency at the Medical College of Virginia. Prior to joining Virginia Women's Center's Mechanicsville office in 1998, Dr. Hutcheson served as an assistant professor in the department of obstetrics and gynecology at the Medical College of Virginia. He was also the director of the abnormal Pap smear clinic at MCV.
Dr. Hutcheson is a diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
He has also been named a fellow by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He continues his membership in the Richmond and Virginia Obstetrical and Gynecological Societies.

In his spare time, Dr. Hutcheson enjoys flying, scuba diving or playing golf.

Amie Y. Miklavcic, M.D.
Amie Y. Miklavcic, M.D. joined Virginia Women's Center in the fall of 2010.
Dr. Miklavcic received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Ursinus College followed by a Master of Medical Science degree from MCP Hahnemann University in Philadelphia. Dr. Miklavcic received her medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine and completed both her internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Medical College of Virginia where she was honored with the Residency Teaching Award.
Dr. Miklavcic's practice spans the full spectrum of women's health care
including routine and high-risk pregnancies, laparoscopic gynecologic surgery and ambulatory gynecologic care including the evaluation of pap smears and menopause management. She has a particular interest in pediatric and adolescent gynecology. Another area of interest for Dr. Miklavcic is her recent research and presentation on over-the-counter contraceptives. In addition, Dr. Miklavcic offers BRAC and COLARIS Testing to determine whether an individual has certain hereditary gene mutations that would increase her risk of having certain cancers. She is a fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as a member of the American Medical Women's Association and the Ware-Dunn Society.
Dr. Miklavcic and her husband, Ajit, enjoy spending all the time they can with their young daughters.
Travelling is a joy for Dr. Miklavcic and her family - their favorite destinations being the beach, mountains or New Jersey, where they are able to visit family and friends.

Kristin P. Schraa, M.D.
Dr. Kristin Schraa attended Bellarmine College in Louisville, Kentucky where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree.
She received her medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine and completed her residency at the Medical College of Virginia. She joined Virginia Women's Center in 1998 and practices at our Mechanicsville and Tappahannock offices.
In 2012, Dr. Schraa retired from obstetrics to focus her practice on gynecology.
She enjoys caring for women of all ages and has particular interest in adolescent health, reproductive issues and perimenopause. Dr. Schraa is also experienced in gynecologic surgery, including advanced laparoscopic surgery.
Dr. Schraa is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and is a fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
She is a member of the Richmond Academy of Medicine and the Ware-Dunn Society.
Dr. Schraa and her husband, a pharmacist, spend as much time as possible with their two sons.
She stays active in her children's school and extracurricular activities. The four enjoy relaxing at home in Mechanicsville and traveling as much as possible. Dr. Schraa likes to unwind by sewing, baking and building Legos.

Kathryn K. Stout, M.D.
To assist in the provision of women's health care in the Northern Neck and surrounding regions, Dr. Stout relocated to Kilmarnock in July 2004.
She provides the full scope of office-based obstetric and gynecologic services for women in Kilmarnock and Tappahannock and provides hospital care at Memorial Regional Medical Center in Mechanicsville. She is on the medical staff of Rappahannock General Hospital and also participates with the Northern Neck Free Health Clinic.
Dr. Stout is a diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
She has also been named a fellow by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She is a member of the Richmond Academy of Medicine, the Medical Society of Virginia and the Northern Neck Medical Association.
In 2007, Dr. Stout earned her Master of Business Administration from The Mason School of Business at The College of William and Mary.
She currently serves as a managing partner of Virginia Women's Center. In her spare time, Dr. Stout enjoys golfing and spending time with her husband and daughter.

Louis M. Thompson, M.D.
A hokie fan through and through
Dr. Thompson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and a Master of Science degree in microbiology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He subsequently worked in the field of AIDS research at The National Institutes of Health for three years. Dr. Thompson attended medical school at the Medical College of Virginia and completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Women's Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital.
For his academic achievement and performance in the obstetrics and gynecology field, Dr. Thompson has received several honors and awards.
He is the co-author of four publications and numerous abstracts in the areas of bacteriology, immunology and virology. Virginia Women's Center patients for whom surgery is necessary can benefit from Dr. Thompson's training in using the daVinciĀ® Surgical System for minimally invasive procedures. Dr. Thompson's gynecology practice has expanded immeasurably with work in the field of pelvic organ prolapse. Prolapse is an uncomfortable condition that can affect women following pregnancy or hysterectomy, but one that's easily treatable with proper experience and knowledge. About one in three women suffer from some degree of prolapse and one in 10 women will undergo surgery for it. In collaboration with Virginia Women's Center urologist Lonny Green, M.D., Dr. Thompson has helped hundreds of women. Dr. Thompson is also on the faculty at the Pelvic Floor Institute for Boston Scientifc Corporation and serves as a pelvic surgery instructor for physicians around the country.
In addition, Dr. Thompson is interested in helping patients determine their risk of developing osteoporosis and recommend actions to prevent it.
Dr. Thompson is certified by the International Society of Clinical Densitometry.
Dr. Thompson is as serious about his family as he is about his work and appreciates time to spend with his wife and two children.
They enjoy outdoor activities, including hiking, camping and fishing. Dr. Thompson is also an avid golfer. And, he has a unique hobby: beer crafting.

Matthew F. Vogel, M.D.
After providing office-based OB-GYN care in the Northern Neck for over 20 years
we're excited that Matthew F. Vogel, M.D. joined our team at Virginia Women's Center in April 2014. Dr. Vogel practices at our Kilmarnock and Tappahannock offices.
Dr. Vogel received his bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri in Rolla and his dentistry degree from the University of Missouri in Kansas City.
After graduating from dentistry school, he attended the Saint Louis University School of Medicine, where he earned his medical degree. Dr. Vogel completed his internship and residency at North Carolina Baptist Hospital. Dr. Vogel is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and is a Diplomate with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
In his spare time, Dr. Vogel enjoys spending time with his family, reading, fishing and kayaking.
