Montepulciano is a red wine grape variety grown widely in central Italy, most notably its eastern Abruzzo, Marche and Molise regions. The variety was named after the Tuscan parish of Montepulciano.

Carneros, CA- An outstanding value in high quality Pinot Noir, the 2012 Pinot Noir Estate is made primarily from Dijon clones. Its dark ruby color is followed by sweet notes of red apple skins, plums, forest floor and red as well as black cherries. Try if you like: Côtes du Rhône, Zinfandel.
Louis Latour Marsannay Rouge 2014 Cote d'Or, France
Made with 100% Pinot Noir. Bright in colour with lovely garnet glints, it offers delicious aromas of black fruits such as blueberry, cherry and cassis , along with peppery notes. The palate is fresh with aromas of cherry, wild raspberry and subtle smoky hints. The tannins are nicely lingering on the finish. Try if you like: Côtes du Rhône.
It does seem crazy, but a handful of producers in Sicily do include Pinot Noir in their portfolios. The grape certainly does take on hot climate characteristics of ripe raspberry and spice, but the overall effect is not too far off from what you should expect of this delicate, feminine grape. Try if you like: Côtes du Rhône, Zinfandel.

The most classic and the most famous among the wines by Fattoria del Cerro. It has a vivid ruby red colour and good concentration. Lohsa Morellino di Scansano 2014 Tuscany, Italy
Federico Carletti, proprietor of Poliziano in Montepulciano, produces this wine from vineyards just a few miles from the sea. It reflects a coastal warmth and concentration as well as the trademark cherry aromas of ciliegiolo (15 percent of the blend). Aged eight month in used barrels and tonneaux, it feels balanced and energetic, with a clean, herbal finish. Try if you like: Cabernet Franc.

Dark plum with a ruby rim. Dark chocolate and mocha are immediately recognizable. Chocolate notes persist and evolve into milk chocolate mousse and vanilla anglaise. Wild blackberries, dark cherry and satsuma plum lead the fruit charge. A medium to full-bodied wine with plum and fleshy/sweet dark fruits. Chocolate custard common to both aroma and palate. This wine is a big one, going all out to make friends.
