From 1986 to 1998, P.B. Tran worked for a Vietnamese restaurant chain with locations throughout the U.S. He helped with the company’s expansion, and gradually worked his way up from general manager to international consultant with the expansion to Southeast Asia. He left the company in 1998 to pursue his own venture. He wanted to open a restaurant that he and his wife could run together; something local so that he could reduce the amount of traveling that was required of his previous job. In 1998, Pho Saigon Vietnamese Noodle House was premiered in Midtown Houston.
