In this two day workshop, students will learn the process of hot glass blowing with a focus on cups! This experience will cover a wide array of foundational glass blowing skills and techniques needed to create basic shapes and forms. Inspiration will be derived from one's imagination but not subject to the greats.
NYC Resistor / Experimentation Station
This class will teach everything needed to know to make ideas become a reality with laser and glass. In this two-location class, students will be led through all steps, from idea to pressing the "go" button on the laser at NYC Resistor.
A Crash Course in "Knitted Glass"
As a class, the group will analyze each object to determine how best to get a successful casting. The class will cover all aspects of casting: Day one is wax-working. Day two is mold-making. Day three is steaming molds & loading the kiln. Day four is divesting molds and cleaning glass.
Introduction to Glassblowing
Students will learn how to gather molten glass from the furnace and how to manipulate and shape it through heat, gravity and blowing.Experience the magic of molten glass with this introduction to the basics of glassblowing.
