Beginner Machine Sewing
Sewing is a learning-by-doing type of activity, and each day of this four part series will build on each other.
Intermediate Machine Sewing
You know how to sew and you want to make something that fits your body's measurements and add your own style! This intermediate sewing class will get you started by learning how to make foundational stitches, add design features such as pockets to basic clothing shapes, use fabric manipulation techniques such as tucks and pleats for decoration, and build structures such as straps and facings. You will take a basic clothing shape, such as an apron, make it your own design and have it fitted to your body!
DIY Couture in 8 Hours: The Body Pattern
There is no better place to learn advanced sewing techniques than at the Fashion Design Center at the Bridgeport Art Center. Our studio is surrounded by Chicago's own up and coming designers and the air is filled with inspiration and talent. The intermediate sewing series is a must have requirement for this workshop.

Come make a knitted scarf! We will show you now to knit in straight rows so that your scarf does not look like an hour glass.
