The concept of Three Forty Four takes its inspiration from the roaring era of prohibition with a mix of Tiki culture derived from the caribbean & island lifestyle of “escapism”. The idea of this concept stems from a knowledgeable NYC Jewelry designer from Switzerland who, always in search for a new expedition, teamed up with a French traveling bartender who was raised in West Africa with a passion for hospitality and the bar.
Their idea was to create an urban oasis tucked beside a busy bridge by the water. The green garden facade is meant to pay homage to the classic Victorian style of Sutton Place’s history but also to bring life to Three Forty Four’s concept as it mirrors its sister location on Las Ballenas Beach in Las Terrenas, Dominican Republic.
The pineapple is the symbol of bringing luck and peace amongst all according to the first native Indians from Paraguay. It was also known as the mystical Sun Fruit as they would place the pineapple in the entrance of their homes as a welcome. At Three Forty Four we welcome you to experience the different flavors of the world as you can experience them through taste and indulge your senses.
