A Schnitzel is thinly pounded cutlet of meat which is dusted with flour, egg washed and covered with breadcrumbs then fried golden brown and served with a lemon wedge. A Schnitzel "Nature" is just dusted in flour and then sautéed to perfect tenderness. René's Schnitzelhaus features southern German and Eastern European cuisine.
After completing his apprenticeships as butcher and cook in Swabia/Germany Chef René has worked his way up trough many different restaurants from line cook in Germany to Demi Chef de partie in Switzerland and back in Germany as Chef de Partie. Chef René came to the USA in the mid 90's to work as a cook in a little place called "The Beachcomber Hotel" in South Miami Beach and then went on to work as chef at Mozart Stube in Coral Gables, FL. After that Chef worked for many years on Fort Lauderdale Beach in places like the Bierbrunnen as chef from 1999 till 2004 and from 2005 to 2019 as executive chef at The Deck in Fort Lauderdale Beach. In 2019 Chef René took over Uncle Lui's Restaurant in Sunrise FL and rebranded it as René's Schnitzelhaus in 2020. Since then Chef Rene is serving fine southern German and eastern European dishes in this cozy little location.
The Mainstay are the Giant super tender Schnitzels and the variety of Brats some made by the Chef himself and others sourced from our local Butcher in Deerfield Beach. The Beer menu contains over a dozen fine german beers with some non alcoholic and low alcohol content beers.
