Special Weapons
Special weapons (sniper rifles, grenade launchers, etc.) are to be approved by UBG Officials prior to use. Note that they must make a "bang" noise or have some other indicator of detonation A grenade firing BBs does not only have to strike you to count, but standard blast radius rules also apply upon detonation. If you are hit by a BB outside the radius, you are eliminated.
Nerf Rockets or similar projectiles have a 10' blast radius from where the rocket comes to rest.
All players within this radius should call themselves out as if they were hit. This is not to be disputed.
Rockets may have additional functions like disabling vehicles and buildings at UBG Event Runner's discretion.
Hand grenades must be thrown underhand and have a 10' blast radius from their place of detonation
Claymores and BB Shower Shells (Beehive style M203 rounds) are classified as directional weapons and must strike you with a BB to count as a kill.
These have no blast radius rules.
Smoke Grenades may only be used with approval of a UBG official.
Smoke grenades must be cold burning (no lit fuses) unless a UBG official specifically states otherwise.
Gun mounted cameras are ok to use as recording devices and to fire around corners and objects.
However you must be able to visually see your target using the camera.
Safety
Staging Area / Penalty Box / Safe Zone.
Safe Zone
The "Safe Zone" includes the staging area, the penalty box, parking lot, other fields not related to UBG airsoft, any area occupied by a player not wearing safety goggles etc…
The netting in which you enter the field begins the marking of the safe zone
While exiting the playing field you must remove the magazine from your gun
clear the chamber, engage the safety mode, and have a barrel bag on the muzzle of the replica at all times.
No discharging of replica firearms at any time in the safety zone
or any publicly displayed area, or where there are any participants/non-participants not wearing "ANSI" rated safety goggles.
This is the only area that you may remove your eye protection safely.
Penalty box
The penalty box is a section of the safe zone where players that fail to adhere to the rules of the game are sent for a specific time per number of offences.
First offence Verbal warning
Second offence Verbal Warning
Third offence Penalty box 10 min
Fourth Offence Penalty box 20 min
any arguments, verbal abuse, or disorderly conduct will immediately escalate to a fourth offence. Any violent or unwanted physical contact with another player will result in a Fifth offence followed by legal Official Contact and a permanent ban from field.
Fifth Offence removed from field and sent home
any arguments, verbal abuse, or disorderly conduct will immediately escalate to a fourth offence. Any violent or unwanted physical contact with another player will result in a Fifth offence followed by legal Official Contact and a permanent ban from field.
Eye & Face protection
Any players under 18 years of age are required to wear full face protection (ie. paintball mask, ironman mask). Note: No balaclava or shemagh exceptions for players under 18. Please Note: There is often a lot of close contact and there is a high probability you will suffer close range face hits through no fault of your own or other players. Face Protection and/or mouth guards are strongly recommended. It is suggested but not required for players over 18 to wear mouth & face protection. It is up to the participant to ensure proper face protection. Players who do not wear face protection play at their own risk.
When entering the playing field you are required to have your full seal ANSI rated eye protection on at all times
Full seal ANSI rated eye protection must be worn at all times while playing airsoft.
Full seal eye protection is a type of safety goggle that must make a full non-penetrable seal around your eyes to ensure that BB's should not be able to get under your eye protection and into your eyes when worn. Lens shall be rated ANSI 87.1 or greater.
Shooter and mesh goggles are not permitted as it possesses a safety risk to the eyes.
At no time should you remove your eye wear from your face while on the field.
If for some reason you absolutely must, make sure you are in a safe area and call "blindman" (you must have a teammate protect you from potential fire by shielding your face with their body while you adjust/clear eye wear)
You may not simply call "blindman" without someone to protect you.
Removing your goggles without doing so is grounds for permanent banning.
It's recommended that owning anti-fog goggles such as ESS Turbofans or JT Proflex can help reduce the risk of goggle fogging
and is a good investment for any player.
Medical Emergencies
Medical Emergencies
UBG has some staff on field that are trained for emergencies. While playing can get intense we at UBG ask that you only use the words "Cease Fire" under an emergency. If you or a player is hurt, immediately yell cease fire. During a cease fire, you should clear your gun, place your weapon on safety and remove your magazine.
Proper Airsoft Replica use on field
Blind Firing
Never fire on a target you cannot see. This is an offense that you can be banned for. Blind firing is when you are firing upon an opponent without having visual contact with your target. This poses a serious safety threat and therefore is not permitted. You must be able to see what you are shooting at. This includes but not limited to:
Firing through holes in objects.
Firing behind you while running
Firing around corners or over/under an obstacle
Engagement
While you may fire on full automatic from inside a building to out and from outside in, when shooting at a target in the same structure/complex as your gun must be on semi auto only. This means that if your weapon is full-auto only, you may not fire more than three rounds per/ pull of the trigger. keep it to short controlled bursts. This is an offense that you can be banned for.
Must use semi-automatic indoors, within forts or bases.
Semi-automatic only when you are within 15' of a target
Safety Kills
Remember the opposing player does not have to honor the safety kill call out.
These are not a tactical tool, but rather a common courtesy.
In order to commit a safety kill you must have a player whom is not facing you dead to rights (at close range) you may say Safety Kill or try to (without touching, physically harming, or verbally abusing the other player) persuade them into surrendering.
That player does not have to honor the surrender of a safety kill.
They may at any time attempt to fire at you but this gives you the full right to eliminate your opponent if you feel threatened by them. However, once they verbally claim that they have been eliminated, your opponent has agreed to honor the safety kill and is the not allowed to eliminate you until they have re-spawned.
You may not safety kill multiple players with a single call, or safety kill a player who is facing you, with their weapon up.
In these instances you should always play out the encounter.
Game Play Rules
Elimination
All BB impacts to the individual player are always hits.
A hit to any body part or piece of gear (backpack, holster, etc) counts as a hit.
Hit players should immediately yell "hit!"
And raise their weapon over their heads and place a red rag upon their head if they have one.
If you don't have a read rag, keep your hands/weapon up, as other players have no way of knowing you are out of the game.
Keep your red rag on or keep your weapon up in the air while moving to re spawn zones and out of the play area.
Otherwise players (friendly and enemy) will be planning and acting as if you are still in the game. This hurts both teams and can lead to you getting repeatedly shot on your way to re spawn.
Gun hits do not count.
Friendly fire always counts as a hit.
Attitude
Do not wear real military branch, unit, or other badges that you did not earn outside of full re-enactment scenarios.
This is disrespectful to the men and women who fought for them, some of whom you may run into on the field.
Rank tabs are acceptable, as many teams use them for organizational purposes.
Respect the staff of any event you attend, listen to their briefings, and pay attention to the objectives they assign you.
Do not ruin other people's fun by failing to understand what's going on and keep the spirit of the event alive.
No property is to be destroyed before, during or after an event
if there is any damaged done, the person is responsible for all damages and the cost to repair such damage.
Every person must maintain a good sportsmanship attitude, any show of anger can be grounds for elimination and banishment from the field and or event.
Fair Play
Fair Play
Any issues of players not calling hits or any other issues that need to be addressed should be brought to the attention of the event staff. You shall not engage in any argument or physical altercation with any other player. The event staff will handle all disputes and the decision of the event staff is final. Additionally, any issues with a player not following the rules within the game will also be handled by UBG staff. We ask that if you have an issue with a player(s) that you contact staff, and do not under any circumstance confront said player(s).
Firearm Etiquette
Always aim for center mass (torso) when shooting.
Do not intentionally aim for the head.
Keep your weapon at chest height or lower, especially in CQB.
Aiming high can lead to severe injuries and bypass many safety precautions, including goggles.
Never point your weapon at any player in the safe zone.
Do not shoot animals.
Do not point weapons at pedestrians that are not part of the airsoft game.
Always have barrel bags on weapons when not in use
Not Calling Hits
It is up to all participants to adhere to the above rules. If any players have questions please do not hesitate to come to a staff member. These rules are designed to keep you as the player safe at all times.
If you believe another player is consistently not calling hits, immediately seek out a referee or other staff member and explain the issue.
Do not call out the player on non-hit calling for it is unsportsmanlike conduct.
Try to gather as complete of a description of the incident and individuals involved so staff can act on it and come to a decision.
This goes for all rules violations.

About Us
Here at Ultimate Battleground we love to see new faces, and safety is our goal! Founded in 2009 by President & CEO Robert Smith, The Ultimate Battleground (UBG) is an airsoft and paint ball company owned and operated by a dedicated set of individuals that understand and tailor to the needs of our players. Airsoft and Paintball are similar in function but different in style, however our locations offer a truly unique series of environments fitted to the sport experience and allowing for many different playing styles for everyone. Whether you are looking for a drawn-out fire fight in the forest, Thrilling close quarters battles, or a realistic military simulation, UBG is here to make it all possible for you, the player.
About Airsoft
Airsoft is where it all started for us here at UBG. We can all remember being young children. Imagining of worlds and events that took place in far away lands, and for some of us, that was pretending to experience our favorite military video game, or role playing in our comforting living rooms as our preferred iconic hero from a recent flick! How our hearts would yearn for such an action filled experience to become a temporary reality. Airsoft has enabled all of our child hood dreams with the chance to become a potential reality for both the young and the child in us that just doesn't want to grow up, which is stuck in an adult body. Airsoft is such a versatile recreational activity that gives you so many options for your preferred playing style. You can play with friends in action packed and quick close quarter matches, or play with large teams in a long and drawn out battle that could last days in the woods or towns. Airsoft can fulfill that dream. Airsoft is a game that is played between two or more opposing teams that have a goal or objective to fulfill. both teams are armed with weapons and apparel of their choice and can choose how to play out their strategies and eliminate the opposing force with their replica firearms. Compared to paintball airsoft possesses a far more realistic appeal which can make for a very simulated event.
About Paintball
Paintball is a great sport for all ages, just like airsoft, paintball is a game that is played between two or more opposing teams that have a goal or objective to fulfill. both teams are armed with weapons and apparel of their choice and can choose how to play out their strategies and eliminate the opposing force with their paintball markers. However paintball is less of a military simulation and more of a fast paced sporting event. paint ball is a great way to spend some time with friends, manage team work skills, and a fun way to exercise or play professionally with a team.
UBG and Cape Cod Paintball are open year round. We have pro-shops for both sports and offer many Airsoft and Paintball Events for you to enjoy. Walk on Airsoft and Paintball fields open every weekend. Expanded days and hours during school vacations.
UBG's mission from day one was to create memorable fun/action/excitement for all, we still believe in that to this day, and we think you should come experience it for yourself, make a friend or two, and of course realize why UBG only continues to grow!
