The Jellies, Circument, Sara Barron
When: 20 June at 08:00 PM to 21 June at 12:00 AM; Public; Hosted by Trixie's Bar and The Jellies, Neue Haus Booking, Sara Marie Barron. Neue Haus Presents: The Jellies, Circument, Sara Barron. Doors at 8pm, Music at 9. The Jellies: The Jellies is the Chicago-based project of songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Jenn Romero. Officially starting in 2014, Jenn has called upon various lineups of friends (most often fellow songmakers) to bring her songs to life. With a history of creating music for film and theater, her compositions have an evocative, cinematic quality, with her crystal voice always at the center. The most recent set of Jellies songs is the most personal yet; intimate, raucous, gritty, punchy, and devastating. "Bluebeard" is an honest exploration of what it means to give and receive love in the intersectional space of social conditioning-namely the moments of yearning and desire to be seen and heard that are challenged by the ways we are taught to not see or hear one another. http://thejellieschicago.bandcamp.com/. Circument: A cerebral and solo electronics project of Cy Tulip. Sara Barron: Based in Detroit, Michigan, Sara Marie Barron draws inspiration from the past and current sounds of Motown while infusing a modern take on love and heartbreak. Born and raised just outside of the city, Sara's deep love of Motown, soul and jazz is evidenced through her gritty vocal delivery, hooky melodies, and timeless arrangements. http://www.saramariebarron.com/.

Video Age, Career Club, Zack Fealk
When: 12 July at 8:00 PM – 11:00 PM. Neue Haus Presents; Video Age Career Club Zachary Morris Fealk; Thurs., July 12 Trixie's Bar; 8pm doors, 9pm music. Video Age - On Video Age's forthcoming album Pop Therapy, out June 15 via Inflated Records, longtime friends and songwriting partners Ross Farbe and Ray Micarelli conjure up a thrilling collection of futuristic pop songs. Using a palette of vintage synthesizers and the propulsion of a Sequential Circuits Drumtraks drum machine, the New Orleans-based group's buoyant synth-pop echoes from some imagined vision of the past, leaning on an invented nostalgia to soundtrack an ideal future that never arrived. Video Age brings that future fully to life on Pop Therapy. Emerging from New Orleans' DIY scene and label collectives, Farbe and Micarelli were intrigued by each other's songwriting among several curiously satisfying guitar pop bands. As a producer and prolific engineer, Farbe has helmed some of the most exciting releases from genre-pushing New Orleans artists, whose singular visions are made possible with his gifted ear and love of tape recording. Micarelli's talent for crafting simple, tangible melodies complements Farbe's studio world-building, letting ideas drift until they emerge into impressive arrangements. The pair's seemingly effortless gift for crafting earworm hooks was glimpsed on their 2016 debut Living Alone, a gorgeous collection of guitar-driven melancholy. On Pop Therapy, they're joined by Duncan Troast, Nick Corson and Jordan Odom, taking inspiration from the limitless possibility on sonic canvases from the late 1970s and early 1980s (Yellow Magic Orchestra, McCartney II, Donald Fagen's The Nightfly). Where Living Alone catalogued the solitude of reflecting on what was and could have been, the sentimental love songs on Pop Therapy gaze longingly at the likeliness of a brighter tomorrow. https://videoage.bandcamp.com. Lonely Parade, GIRL FIGHT, Emily Roll
When: 20 July at 8:00 PM to 21 July at 12:00 AM. Neue Haus Presents; Lonely Parade, GIRL FIGHT, Emily Roll; 7.20.18 Trixie's Bar; 8pm doors, 9pm music. Lonely Parade - Lonely Parade is a three piece post-punk band of childhood friends based in Montréal, QC. Augusta, Anwyn and Charlotte played their first show in 2012, and started touring before all the members of the band were of age. While still quite young in years, the songs they write prove a compatibility beyond years. Their most recent album "No Shade" was released through their own tape label Sleepwalk Tapes in September 2016. Drawing from feelings of discomfort, yearning, and a newfound sense of self awareness, each song is a rollercoaster of sounds and emotions. http://thelonelyparade.com/. Girl Fight Girl Fight is an energetic feminist punk duo influenced by the riot grrrl movement of the early 90s. With garage simplicity, the band draws their sound from acts such as Bikini Kill, The Stooges, The Cramps and Mudhoney. https://girlfightdetroit.bandcamp.com/releases. Emily Roll - Performance artist Emily Roll got her start as a theater actor and later branched out into more experimental original work. Beginning in 2012, she launched her "Haunted" moniker as a vehicle to explore anxiety, vulnerability, and transparency. These otherworldly pieces were realized in combinations of written, vocal, physical or verbal forms, and often took place in dive bars and DIY spaces among rock bands and noise acts. From these sometimes unhinged beginnings, Emily has crafted a nuanced language with her performance pieces, constantly evolving as they reach a more naked level of connectivity." Neue Haus Booking is proudly sponsored by Michael Sondheimer.

Material Girls (Atlanta) / The Idiot Kids / Dr. Wolf at Trixie's
When: 28 July at 8:00 PM. Saturday, July 28th @ Trixie's Bar. Irrelevant Music & Soul Krooner Sounds present: Material Girls (Atlanta, GA) https://www.irrelevantmusic.net/materialgirls/. Material Girls only come out at night. The Atlanta sextet indulge in glam and goth while maintaining a percussive no wave edge on their new album Leather. It's a pointed balance, but the combination comes naturally for these gutter dwelling creatures who cut their teeth on the sweaty Atlanta nightlife, and is enough to summon the ghosts of CBGB and Andy Warhol. The 8 song record explodes with post-modern sleaze and over the course of 30 minutes, the band ride a wave of malaise towards a decrepit paradise. After a promising 4 song EP and a year spent touring, including a few dates supporting the B-52s' Cindy Wilson, the gang is sharper than ever thanks to the addition of guitarist Robbie Rapp (Muuy Biien) and bassist Meghan Dowlen. The Siouxsie-inspired shrieks of Dowlen are a particularly sharp dagger in the Material Girls arsenal, which alternates between squalling psychedelia and apocalyptic post-punk. Echoes of Richard Hell and Pere Ubu flow through nihilistic lyrics, uncaged performances, and inventive riffs. The Idiot Kids - https://jettplasticrecordings.bandcamp.com/album/skeleton-boy-b-w-bonfire. Dr. Wolf - Doors @ 8pm / Music @ 9pm / 21+.
