McLean, Virginia was founded in 1910, when the provinces of Lewinsville and Langley merged. John R. McLean, which our community is named after, was the former publisher and founder of The Washington Post. He and Senator Stephen Benton Elkins built the Great Falls and Old Dominion Railroad.
