We achieve this by hand-selecting each and every wine
beer, or spirit in our store to meet our high standards of quality, uniqueness, and value so that we can focus solely on delivering our clients the highest-quality products at competitive prices.
We may not have the largest selection you'll find, but it's our belief that bigger isn't necessarily better
we simply believe better is better, and therefore, we only offer you the best.
Each member of our company is part of a passionate
enthusiastic team that is focused on delivering great service and value to each and every one of our clients. While we have a diverse array of backgrounds-collectively we've worked in winemaking, restaurants, the music industry, real estate, and business management-We do this because we truly love great wine, beer, and spirits and the entire gastronomic culture surrounding them. Nothing is more exciting to us than sharing this culture with you!

Our Team
Dan Hutchinson, General Manager
Dan Hutchinson, our resident chef and captain, hails from Seattle, Washington. His commitment to searching out fun and unique wine and spirits from around the world is at the core of what we do. Before joining our team, Dan was a critically acclaimed Chef in Washington, at the helm of Brix 25o, a Wine Spectator award-winning restaurant, and Washington State's "Restaurant of the Year" in 2008. Dan was also a chef at El Gaucho (Seattle's best-known Steakhouse), Il Fiasco, and Asado. Skilled in operations management honed by years in fast-paced, high-demand kitchens, he's a natural when it comes to business and brand-building, as well as managing relationships with staff and clients. Dan makes it his mission to bring fantastic, unsung wines to the attention of Music City's thirsty population while, of course, seeing as much live music as humanly possible.
Josh Fowler, The Wine Warrior
Josh Fowler, aka "The Man with the Beret," is the longest-standing employee who has been with the company nearly fourteen years. Without a doubt, Josh is Nashville's wine celebrity, known to all and sundry for his impassioned salesmanship and larger than life personality. If you have the time Josh's stories are not to be missed and he has many to share! Josh has been selling wine to the oenophiles of Nashville for the better part of three decades in some of Music City's top restaurants and fine retail establishments. He is a large part of the unique experience that is The Wine Shoppe at Green Hills. Ask him what he is excited about and you are sure not to be disappointed!
Derek Cohen, Sales Associate
Derek is our resident hipster and musician here at the Shoppe. Hailing from the great state of North Carolina, it was Nashville's vibrant music scene that originally pulled him to the area. However, in addition to his musical aspirations, Derek has discovered and has been developing passions for all things delicious. Whenever he travels he makes a point to seek out the local producers and always brings back suggestions of great products we can help bring to our clients. Here at the Shoppe he will find you that bottle that is just enough outside the box to satisfy your adventurous spirit without breaking the bank. Derek loves wines that deliver exceptional value and style so come pick his brain and take home something new
Bob & Terri Grussing, Owners
Bob and Terri both hail from Vermont where maple syrup is king and the mountain sides are more often employed as ski slopes than as vineyards. Bob's corporate career spans +30 years working for General Electric, Mack Trucks, Volvo, SPX and A.O. Smith. Having traveled the globe on business, Bob has tasted some of the finest food and wine the world has to offer. Terri has skillfully split her time between raising the couple's three children and a career in retail women's fashions. They have called Nashville home for the past 10 years. Although relative newcomers to the business of fine wine and spirits, both Bob and Terri bring to The Wine Shoppe at Green Hills an entrepreneurial spirit, passion for exceptional customer service and the business acumen necessary to lead a successful family business.
Katie Grussing, Sales Associate
Katie was born in Massachusetts and raised in Nashville. As one of the newest members of our team here at the Shoppe, she has quickly become an avid beverage enthusiast. Katie brings her background in bar-tending to the collective experience of our staff and as such she excels at finding the right beverage for your event or occasion. With her eclectic palete, Katie certainly appreciates the broad selection that The Shoppe offers, but after recently discovering the joys of Burgundy it is clear where her heart is. Don't be surprised if you leave with a stunning bottle from one of her favorite producers after stopping to chat with her!
Tim Grussing, Sales Associate
As the youngest member of our staff here at the Shoppe, Tim is excited to be part of the team. A relative newcomer to the world of fine wine and spirits, Tim looks forward to tasting new products and expanding his knowledge of our fantastic boutique portfolio. After studying at MTSU and the Univeristy of Tennessee, Tim spent time in retail positions honing his customer service skills. Now as part of his family's business, Tim is excited to help you find just the right bottle for your needs. He is particularly fond of California Cabernets and wines from the Cotes du Rhone. Next time you are in the Shoppe ask him to show you his current favorite!
