He spent 10 years there becoming the head winemaker, before being handpicked by Andre Tcheliftcheff to replace him as the winemaker at Beaulieu in Rutherford. Only 122 cases were produced of this sublime Sauvignon Blanc from a combination of one ton each of Musque & Clone 1 fruit. Both were picked, loaded and pressed together after 20 hours of whole cluster skin contact at 58 degrees. The juice was fermented and aged for 8 months in 35% once and twice-used Sylvain blanc barrels, while the remainder in stainless steel barrels. A long and slow fermentation utilizing battonage stirring to build creaminess on the palate. There was no malolactic fermentation. Alcohol: 13.7%.
