In June of 1996, Vera and Lavell Willis decided to open their flagship restaurant, "The Peachtree Buffet", in Southeast Kansas City. It was an instant success. Mrs. Willis wanted to share the great Soul food recipes with the people of Kansas City that had been passed down to her from generations ago.
