Class Description
Basic Yoga
Basic Yoga classes are perfect for beginners or people looking to revisit the fundamentals of yoga practice. A great class for those who are new to yoga, or those wishing to go at a little slower pace than the Forrest or multi-level yoga.
Forrest Yoga
Forrest Yoga was designed by Ana Forrest to help protect and heal our bodies as we live our modern day lives. In this style of yoga, we intelligently warm and strengthen muscles groups so as to heal and prevent hip, back, shoulder, and neck pain. We also use the practice to cultivate mindfulness, self confidence, pleasure, and peace that we can then take into our lives off the mat. All Forrest Yoga classes are multi-level.
Heated Vinyasa Yoga Flow
All levels are welcome to attend this Heated Vinyasa class. Options are given to all students to the beginner to the more advanced. In a multilevel class a student has plenty of opportunity for personal expression and movement patterns within the flowing sequence. Rhythmic sun salutes, creative sequencing and the progressive linking of poses and series keeps this class energetic and fun filled from start to finish. In this heated vinyasa class the yoga studio is heated to 85 degrees.
Multi-Level Yoga
In multi-level classes the student will learn to move smoothly through the postures while combining the almost dance like movements with specific breathing techniques.
Restorative Yoga
A beautiful surrender into quiet. This passive form of Yoga is characterized by seated, reclined, or supported postures held for several minutes. It is meant to encourage deep physical, mental, and emotional relaxation through the use of bolsters, blankets, blocks and straps. This soothing practice relieves the effects of chronic stress, and leaving you feeling nourished, nurtured, and well rested.
Kundalini Yoga
Kundalini Yoga is one of the most comprehensive, effective, safe and uplifting forms of yoga. Utilizing kriyas (exercises) that consist of pranayama (breath work), mudras (hand gestures), bandhas (muscular locks) and mantras (chants) we are able to balance the glandular system, strengthen the nervous system, expand lung capacity and purify the bloodstream as we uncoil the energy at the base of our spines bringing balance to the body, mind and soul.
Flow & Restore
Vinyasa Flow and Restore. The perfect combination of an all level Heated Vinyasa Flow followed by Restorative/Yin postures. In the first hour, we link movement and breath as the body heats and becomes more fluid. In the final 30 minutes, we explore postures that help us surrender into quiet.

Raghunath, a master storyteller and orator will bring this story to life, extracting the key points of The Mahabharata and show their practical application in our contemporary world. This weekend includes all-levels asanas, kirtan practice, meditation and study. This emersion is open to all who are interested in deepening their knowledge of and philosophy of Yoga. Friday 7-9pm; Saturday: 730am:-3:00pm (with one hour lunch break); Sunday: 730am-3:00pm (with one hour lunch break).

Having gravitated to The Funky Om as her "home" studio because of its perfectly balanced dose of yoga for the body, mind and spirit, she knew there was no more fitting place for her to receive her teacher training than under the guidance of Milard Roper and Leslie Van Bell. Believing that the best teachers are those who never stop learning as students, Celia regularly attends classes, workshops and retreats in various styles of yoga taught by well respected teachers from around the country. Celia teaches basic and multi-level yoga and stresses to her students that yoga has nothing at all to do with whether or not you can touch your toes. She hopes that her deep love of yoga (and the harmonium!) spreads to all those who attend her classes.
