Our guests always ask "How did you guys come up with that name?" and "what is a Fishwife?"
It all started when my Grandfather said "if I ever have a restaurant I will call it the Fishwife. He passed on and a few years later my parents decided to put their talents to work by starting a seafood restaurant.
In tribute, the name Fishwife immediately came to mind. Now what exactly is a fishwife?
Originally used in Great Britain, fishwives were just that - the wife of a fisherman who sold her husband's catch on the streets. They were known as tough, hardworking women.
