Day Care
Industry experience shows that pets who enjoy daily playtime and physical activity are more adjusted, less stressed, healthier and happier. Our core philosophy focuses on lots of exercise and playtime for every pup. The benefits of daycare include much needed exercise, socialization, less guilt for you (because most of us don't have the time to give our dogs all the exercise they need) and less wear and tear on your house. Dogs that join us for daycare enjoy spacious indoor/outdoor supervised group play areas featuring interactive elements such as: benches, bridges, balls, chew toys, wading pools and of course, our canine companions. At The Dog Stop®, dogs are separated according to size, temperament and activity level. Once your dogs are registered and have met the requirements, they can participate in day care any time. There's no need to make a reservation. Monday - Friday: 6:30am to 7:00pm

What is required for my dog to play/stay at The Dog Stop?
The safety and health of your pet is our first concern.
Our The Dog Stop® Play/Stay contract includes a personality profile so we have basic information about your dog's temperament and match him with the right playmates. All boarding dogs that participate in daycare must demonstrate adequate social skills and the ability to play safely. On the first overnight stay at The Dog Stop®, we will evaluate your dog's interactions with other guests. If we find your dog isn't daycare friendly, he will instead receive personal playtime from our canine companions.
Prior to boarding and/or daycare, you must provide proof of the following vaccinations from your vet:
Bordetella - Up to date vaccinations; Parvovirus & Distemper - Up to date vaccinations; Rabies - Up to date vaccinations.
We also require that your dog be on a regular flea and tick prevention program, such as Frontline or Advantage.
(Flea Powders/Collars are not acceptable, with the exception of the Seresto Collar.) Dogs over 7 months must be spayed or neutered in order to participate in day care, however they may still be boarded.

They are also less stress and much less destructive to your home. Bored dogs may chew on furniture or door facings, howl, or act unruly. At The Dog Stop, we understand that not everyone has the time necessary to allow your dog ample play time outdoors. Or you may have the time, but don't have the energy. That's why our indoor and outdoor play rooms provide plenty of interaction and socialization between friendly dogs. In addition, we always keep dogs separated by size and energy level, so even your lap dog or juvenile pup can romp and play in puppy daycare. Our doggy day care is always supervised. We never leave the dogs unattended and always perform temperament tests before placing dogs together for play time. Senior dogs are welcome too! Dog day care is not just for the young and energetic, the old timers can enjoy themselves as well. We never place them with overly excited or highly energetic dogs for safety. Watch your dog on our streaming Pup Cams! Even if you are miles away on business you can check in and view your pet playing and romping around! Interactive elements in the play areas include wading pools, chew toys, balls, bridges, benches and of course plenty of canine companions to have fun with!

Boarding charges are by the night.
Each pet is charged for the number of nights they stay regardless of the arrival or pick-up time. Our rates are all-inclusive; you will never find a hidden fee for special dietary needs, the administration of medications, or extra attention. We strive to provide our guests with the same love and care to which they are accustomed to receiving at home.
It is highly recommended that boarding guests bring their own food in order to avoid any upset stomach issues and to make each guest feel at home.
Complimentary house food is available upon request.
Room Service is available nightly at bedtime to overnight guests.
Add a 6" Bully Stick for $1.50, 12" Bully Stick for $3.50, or a Cow/Pig Ear for $1.50.
Homecoming Baths are available at additional cost.

What do you do? Bring him to The Dog Stop! Our dog boarding kennels can provide a safe haven for your pet to stay for one night, or multiple nights. Whether you are called away on business, for an emergency, for a wedding or for another event, we can take care of your dog as if it were our own. To prevent stomach upset, please be sure to bring your dog's normal food. While we can offer our own upon request, it helps make your dog feel at home if offered the food he or she is used to. Boarding includes daycare play time and socialization! For dogs that pass our temperament test, they will be allowed to romp and interact with other canines under complete supervision. We can offer puppy boarding too! Whether your pup is familiar with new places or it's all new, we can help the youngster feel right at home while you are away. Boarding for dogs can be stressful. While we try to make this as comfortable for them as possible, bringing their normal food and a favorite blanket or toy can help them settle in.
We do not just cram your pet in a tiny dog kennel and leave him!
Our boarding rooms are spacious and comfortable. Each room includes bedding, water bowl, food bowl and a full day of fun socialization and daycare play time! Sewickley Training
Drop-In Class
Group drop-in classes are held every week and there is no set curriculum. These classes are ideal to get everything from: introduction to basic obedience, working with distractions, walking on a loose leash, and building up confidence via socialization. These classes are perfect for busy dog owners! Registration forms are due by 5:00 PM the day of each class.

5 Week Doggie Manners Class
$100 for the 5 week session, per dog (first session you will not bring your dog).
This course is designed for dogs 11 months and older and will teach you how to better communicate with your dog so problem behaviors don't eat away at the human/canine bond.
We will focus on basic manners such as sit, down, watch me, name recognition, stay, and leave it. This class is specifically designed to be fast paced and relies heavily on owners working with their dogs at home in between classes.
This class is taught using positive reinforcement training:
we reward the good and ignore the bad! Dogs learn better and faster when training is fun and they have motivation to do the work as opposed to aversive techniques which involve fear and pain.
Private In-Home Training
Private in home training is ideal for individuals having issues with their dog at the home, or just want to learn at home in a one on one setting. There is a free phone consultation to identify your needs and issues that need addressed, as well as pricing. After the phone consultation there will be a one of two first time consultation options:
Behavior Modification
This is for extreme behavior problems such as: Human aggression, Dog aggression, extreme fear, separation anxiety and obsessive-compulsive behaviors.
Basic Obedience and Problem Solving
This will cover basic commands such as: Sit, Down, Stay, Recall, Loose leash walking, Focus and touch. Also basic problem solving such as: excessive barking, Mouthing or play biting, jumping, digging, and house breaking. After the first training consultation we compose a training program designed specifically for you and your dog. These detailed plans may be made up off many different options and services. They are custom fit to meet the needs and budget of owners and their dogs.
