Our Biltmore Hot class is a set sequence of yoga poses designed for all levels, from beginning to advanced students. Set in a heated room, this 80-minute class always follows the same series of postures, specifically arranged to bring the body into balance and foster movement that emphasizes strength and mindfulness. Biltmore Hot is a blend of yoga disciplines, including Bikram and Vinyasa. Portions of the class focus on standing "static" postures. Others follow a continuous flow set to music. The practice concludes with a series of deep stretching floor poses.
Biltmore Express
A condensed version of the Biltmore Hot 80 minute sequence. This hot practice is designed to strengthen the body, calm the mind and re-energize the spirit. This class flows to music through a sequence of balancing and energizing asanas designed to increase breath awareness.
Hot Barre / Sculpt
What is barre/sculpt? It's a Long story, actually. It's about the physical as well as the aesthetic benefits of lengthening muscles, while strengthening them. You've admired dancers' bodies, admit it (we all have). barre. combines Pilates, yoga and ballet moves to give you beautiful, sculpted, lean muscles – without the impact and injuries dancers endure. The other, just as significant, aspect of barre. is the focus it demands. And the focus you reclaim as you go through your workout – armed (with well-defined arms we might add) to face the rest of your day calmly, confidently, health-fully.
Vinyasa Flow
Challenge your mind and body with this intense, heated practice focusing on a flow of intermediate to advanced postures and sequences. Hand stands and forearm stands may be introduced in this class.
Yin Restorative
Our Yin Restorative class focuses on therapeutic healing of the body, mind and spirit. Set in a non-heated, tranquil room, the instructor helps students to cultivate stillness and deep relaxation. Poses are held for 5 – 10 minutes to target the ligaments and connective tissues of the body, often with the assistance of props. This class is a beautiful compliment to a vigorous Yang practice. It is also highly beneficial to students recovering from injury or coping with stress and anxiety.
