Childbirth, Revisited
This childbirth refresher is a customizable private class. Intended for parents who have already taken a childbirth education class during a previous pregnancy, the 6 hours of instruction are tailored to the participants' needs and can be split up into multiple classes (minimum 2 hours each) or done all at once, addressing the topics that are most relevant or interesting to the participants. Diaper-Free Toddler
'Diaper-Free Toddler' is designed for parents of infants and younger toddlers who are interested in achieving diaper-freedom sooner rather than later. We will discuss the history of diapering and potty training, what potty training looks like around the world, the science behind 'early potty learning', and what exactly this might look like for your family. This workshop is led by Linnea Mugford, a birth and postpartum doula experienced with elimination communication and early potty learning, and will be held in the classroom space at Sweetroot. In this class, participants will explore what has changed since they were raising babies, what their new roles might be as grandparents, how they might best support their children as parents, and where to find helpful resources going forward. Massage for Labor Support
Learn some basic massage techniques to add to your toolbox as a labor support person, and tips on how to preserve your hands during a potentially long labor. Massage for Labor Support is taught by Linnea Mugford, a Sweetroot Doula and certified Massage Therapist with specialized training in prenatal and postpartum massage. The class will be held at Sweetroot, 1300 S. Walnut St., Ste B. This class is intended for a pregnant parent and their non-professional labor support, whether that person is a partner, family member or friend. Mom & Babe Fitness- DEMO (1 hr)
Get in a full body strengthening and toning workout, all while wearing your baby or carrying your baby womb-style. This free demo class will give you an idea of what you can expect during the regular 5 weeks series beginning July 7th. Led by Amy Headdy, personal trainer and owner of AnyTime Fitness, and held in the classroom space at Sweetroot. This class is recommended for pregnant parents and the newly postpartum. New Mom Group
This 8-week series is led by Lynda Ransburg, MSW, and brings new moms together to share their joys and challenges, explore questions or chat about experiences, and spend quality time with their babies and other moms. Babies are of course welcome. Light snacks and coffee/tea will be available.
