Hip Happy Hour is a 60 minute class focusing on the strength of the deep muscles of the pelvic floor, core and hips, and supported coordination. Most of the class takes place on one's back and side-lying, making it ideal for those with balance issues. Happy hips as we work the feet and legs on and off the floor, in parallel and external rotation, loaded by gravity and/or small resistance bands. Happy brain as we stimulate and reset the nervous system through focused breathing, vision work, same side and cross body movement patterns. This is a wonderful class to build strength and tone in the hips, legs and feet; excellent for rehab and post-rehab from injuries. This class is an evolution of a classic Floor Barre, a system originally created for dancers who were injured and unable to work standing. No dance experience required.
