An entirely new model of soft-tissue release
Based on a neuromuscular mechanism, and not fascia.
Muscular strain will make you hurt and worsen your posture.
Almost any kind of injury, even sitting too long or stretching too hard
will cause strain. It can be present even though you don’t know it.
The goals are similar to those of Rolfing. The method
is not! The approach is direct, without a pre-determined “Recipe”.
The touch is not painful. You might even fall asleep.
It works by releasing your muscles, and the damage can be seen and
felt by the skilled practitioner, and released by gentle touch, going successively deeper with more release. If one tries to work at a tissue level different from what is felt, there is no release.
Length of session: 1 to 1 1/2 hours
Cost: $75 per hour
Number of sessions required: Depends on how long you have been
In pain. The longer you have been injured the more damage in your body,
And the more release needed. Strain damage is permanent until released.
It can be imagined as a complex web of lines of tension throughout the body.
Sometimes releases are felt immediately. Most people feel the
change upon release. The sensation might occur entirely elsewhere in your body!
The changes are visible in a mirror.
For many it can take 5- 10 sessions--or more--to get more complete relief. There are some
who cannot feel the release, even though it has taken place, changes ones gait and appearance.
You may want to return for more release later.
We use range of movement, vision and touch for both assessment and treatment.
For treatments you should wear soft clothing. Women can wear sports bras,
And exercise shorts; Men can wear shorts or briefs. Try not to wear long sleeves
And long pants. Seeing the body is more effective for getting release.
