St. Johns Seafood & Steaks was founded in Jacksonville, Florida in 1983 by Maurice and Lila Rukab. Started in the historic St. John's area of town, the company has been family owned and operated for all of its twenty years of existence. As the family grew, the business also grew. Currently, with seven existing Northeast Florida locations, St. Johns Seafood and Steaks serves over 800,000 meals annually.
Upon retirement, Maurice and Lila turned over the company to their three children. Many of our employees, from dishwashers to management, have been with the company for years. Managers today have worked their way up through the company and are considered part of the family. The company philosophy of value and service has been its building block of success. All of our food products are thoroughly tested for quality assurance and only those products and suppliers that meet our strict standards of excellence and safety are used in our operations. Corporate growth for the company is planned as long as the goals for proper internal leadership are attained. However, the company has plans for franchise opportunities that may be available outside the Jacksonville market. As we believe that someone is only a stranger once, we strive to make every visit to St. Johns Seafood & Steaks memorable.
